Adaptive-robust control with limited knowledge on systems dynamics : An artificial input delay approach and beyond
investigates the role of artificial input delay in approximating unknown system dynamics, referred to as time-delayed control (TDC), and provides novel solutions to current design issues in TDC. Its central focus is on designing adaptive-switching gain-based robust control (ARC) for a class of Euler–Lagrange (EL) systems with minimal or no knowledge of the system dynamics parameters. The newly proposed TDC-based ARC tackles the commonly observed over- and under-estimation issues in switching gain. The consideration of EL systems lends a practical perspective on the proposed methods, and each chapter is supplemented by relevant experimental data
Adaptive Motion of Animals and Machines
Apparently, the ability of animals and robots to adapt in a real world cannot be explained or realized by one single function in a control system and mechanism. That is, adaptation in motion is induced at every level from the central nervous system to the musculoskeletal system. Thus, weorganized the International Symposium on Adaptive Motion in Animals and Machines (AMAM) forscientist sandengineersconcerned with adaptation on various level stobebrought together todiscussprinciplesateachleveland to investigate principles governing total systems.
Adaptive Backstepping Control of Uncertain Systems : Nonsmooth Nonlinearities, Interactions or Time-Variations
This book employs the powerful and popular adaptive backstepping control technology to design controllers for dynamic uncertain systems with non-smooth nonlinearities.
Adapting dermal fillers in clinical practice
There have been many different brands of dermal fillers approved for use for soft tissue augmentation in the US market alone, comprising four different types of temporary fillers and one permanent type, with several other brands and types also available elsewhere in the world. Against such a potentially bewildering variety and range of choices, this new text offers a scientific and an anatomic rationale for why a particular filler should be selected as optimal for each individual location and indication and how it should best be used in treatments. International experts share their clinical knowledge and expertise to guide all levels of aesthetic practitioners toward the best results for each individual patient.
Adaptation to Life at High Salt Concentrations in Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya
This book complements “Halophilic Microorganisms”, edited by A. Ventosa and published by Springer-Verlag (2004), “Halophilic Microorganism and their Environments” by A. Oren (2002), published by Kluwer Academic Publishers as volume 5 of “Cellular Origins, Life in Extreme Habitats and Astrobiology” (COLE), and “Microbiology and Biogeochemistry of Hypersaline Environments” edited by A. Oren, and published by CRC Press, Boca Raton (1999).
Acute coronary syndrome : Multidisciplinary and pathway-based approach
Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) affects millions of patients annually and requires immediate diagnosis and therapy. This practical algorithm-based handbook addresses the diagnosis and treatment of these patients and is designed for the medical personnel involved in the triage and management of ACS patients.

Active Lighting and Its Application for Computer Vision : 40 Years of History of Active Lighting Techniques
Computer vision entails both passive and active illumination techniques. Whereas passive techniques observe the scene statically and analyse it as is, by contrast active techniques give the scene some actions and try to facilitate the analysis. In particular, active illumination techniques project specific light, for which the characteristics are known beforehand, to a target scene to enable stable and accurate analysis of the scene.
Across the Sahara : Tracks, trade and cross-cultural exchange in Libya
Provides a multi-perspective approach to the caravan trade in the Sahara during the 19th century. Based on travelogues from European travelers, recently found Arab sources, historical maps and results from several expeditions, the book gives an overview of the historical periods of the caravan trade as well as detailed information about the infrastructure which was necessary to establish those trade networks.

Covers all levels from the description of AE basics for AE beginners (level of a student) to sophisticated AE algorithms and applications to real large-scale structures as well as the observation of the cracking process in laboratory specimen to study fracture processes.
Acne Vulgaris in women
Acne is a disorder of the hair follicles and oil glands (sebaceous glands). The sebaceous glands secrete oils (sebum) to keep the skin moist. When the glands get clogged, it can lead to pimples and cysts. It is very common disease. People of all races and ages get acne, but it is most common in teens and young adults. Acne can continue into adulthood, and when it does, it is more common in women. For many people who have acne, the skin disease affects more than their appearance. Acne can take a toll on one’s emotional health.
Acne Vulgaris
Acne vulgaris is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages, and the main causes Excess oil (sebum) production, Hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells, Bacteria, Inflammations, life style and the hormonal status for the both gender, also, There are several drugs used to treat and prevent acne such as the most common agents like isotretinoin and benzoyl peroxide , hormonal drugs and newly alternative treatments can be used such as green tea, Zinc supplement, and aloe Vera.
Accounting and Financial System Reform in Eastern Europe and Asia
Accounting and Financial System Reform in Eastern Europe and Asia is the second in a series to examine accounting and financial system reform in transition economies. The first book used Russia as a case study. The present volume in the series examines some additional aspects of the reform in Russia and also looks at the accounting and financial system reform efforts that are being made in Ukraine, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Armenia and five Central Asian republics.
Accounting and Financial System Reform in a Transition Economy: A Case Study of Russia
Much has been written about the economic and political problems of countries that are in the process of changing from centrally planned systems to market systems. Most studies have focused on the economic, legal, political and sociological problems these economies have had to face during the transition period. However, not much has been written about the dramatic changes that have to be made to the accounting and financial system of a transition economy. This book was written to help fill that gap. Using Russia as a case study the authors examined all the major aspects of accounting reform, starting with problems of implementation. They also examined the current state of auditing in Russia. They also devote chapters to corporate governance issues, the Russian tax system and the problems Russian enterprises face when they try to attract foreign direct investment.
Acceptance and Usage of Technology through the Digital User Experience
Sheds light on the challenges and solutions for companies when dealing with the online consumer on social media and in the era of Web 4.0. It investigates the digital transformation in terms of customer experience, customer empowerment, resistance, influencer marketing, and trust. The volume shows how consumers perceive, react and behave towards brands’ digital marketing strategies in addition to the barriers, constraints, advantages and modes of action of online consumers.
