Applied Geometry for Computer Graphics and CAD
Focusing on the manipulation and representation of geometrical objects, this book explores the application of geometry to computer graphics and computer-aided design (CAD). An introduction to transformations of the plane and three-dimensional space describes how objects can be constructed from geometric primitives and manipulated. This leads into a treatment of projections and the method of rendering objects on a computer screen by application of the complete viewing operation. Subsequently, the emphasis is on the two principal curve and surface representations, namely, Bézier and B-spline (including NURBS).

This is done by presenting a series of examples of the successful application of various computational modeling procedures (everything from first principles to quantum approximate to CALPHAD methods) to real life surface and bulk alloy problems. This book should have a large appeal in the materials community, both for experimentalists who would greatly benefit from adding computational methods to their everyday research regimes, as well as for those scientists/engineers familiar with a particular computational method who would like to add complementary techniques to their arsenal of research and development tools
Applied Charged Particle Optics
Authored by a pioneer of the field, this overview of charged particle optics provides a solid introduction to the field for all physicists wishing to design their own apparatus or better understand the instruments with which they work. Applied Charged Particle Optics begins by introducing electrostatic lenses and fields used for acceleration, focussing and deflection of ions or electrons. Subsequent chapters give detailed descriptions of electrostatic deflection elements, uniform and non-uniform magnetic sector fields, image aberrations, and, finally, fringe field confinement. A chapter on applications is added.

Anti-Spam Measures : Analysis and Design
The goal of this book is the methodical analysis of the potential, limitations, advantages, and drawbacks of anti-spam measures. These determine to which extent the measures can contribute to the reduction of spam in the long run. The range of considered anti-spam measures includes legislative, organizational, behavioral and technological ones. Furthermore, the conceptual development and analysis of an infrastructural email framework that features such a complementary application, is pointed out. The technological and organizational facets, the framework is analyzed twofold: its theoretical effectiveness is assessed with the aid of the formal model mentioned above, its storage and traffic requirements are analyzed quantitatively.
Antimicrobial peptides and human disease
Microbes are in our midst soon after birth. Thankfully, the number of harmless (and often beneficial) microbes far outnumber those that would do us harm. Our ability to ward-off pathogens in our environment, including those that can colonize our exterior and/or interior surfaces, depends on the integrative action of the innate and adaptive immunity systems. This volume of CTMI, entitled Antimicrobial Peptides and Human Disease, is dedicated to the role of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) in the innate host defense system of homo sapiens.
Antifouling Compounds
Increasing awareness of the deleterious effects of toxic components in antifouling coatings has raised interest in the potential for nontoxic alternatives. This book examines how marine organisms from bacteria to invertebrates and plants use chemicals to communicate and defend themselves. Chemicals that prevent colonisation of living surfaces are particularly pertinent to antifouling technology and may inspire new solutions. The challenge is to identify such compounds, identify the means for sustainable production and incorporate them into coatings to give long-term antifouling efficacy.
Antibiotic Drug Resistance
This book presents a thorough and authoritative overview of the multifaceted field of antibiotic science – offering guidance to translate research into tools for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases.
Anomaly Detection : Techniques and Applications
When information in the data warehouse is processed, it follows a definite pattern. An unexpected deviation in the data pattern from the usual behavior is called an anomaly. The anomaly in the data is also referred to as noise, outlier, spammer, deviations, novelties and exceptions. Identification of the rare items, events, observations, patterns which raise suspension by differing significantly from the majority of data is called anomaly detection. With progress in the technologies and the widespread use of data for the purpose for business the increase in the spams faced by the individuals and the companies are increasing day by day. This noisy data has boomed as a major problem in various areas such as Internet of Things, web service, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Deep learning, Image Processing, Cloud Computing, Audio processing, Video Processing, VoIP, Data Science, Wireless Sensor etc. Identifying the anomaly data and filtering them before processing is a major challenge for the data analyst. This anomaly is unavoidable in all areas of research. This book covers the techniques and algorithms for detecting the deviated data.
Animals in Our Midst : The Challenges of Co-existing with Animals in the Anthropocene
This book brings together authoritative voices in animal and environmental ethics, who address the many different facets of changing human-animal relationships in the Anthropocene. As we are living in complex times, the issue of how to establish meaningful relationships with other animals under Anthropocene conditions needs to be approached from a multitude of angles. This book offers the reader insight into the different discussions that exist around the topics of how we should understand animal agency, how we could take animal agency seriously in farms, urban areas and the wild, and what technologies are appropriate and morally desirable to use regarding animals. This book is of interest to both animal studies scholars and environmental ethics scholars, as well as to practitioners working with animals, such as wildlife managers, zookeepers, and conservation biologists.

Android smart health monitoring system
Recent years have witnessed an increasing interest in the application of machine learning to clinical informatics and healthcare system never forgetting that the data also states that half of the world's population uses mobile devices. Despite of the existence of tons of applications, algorithms, and systems, the achievement of prescribing proper food that is suitable for patient health case based on face health status, height, weight, daily calories etc.., wasn’t achieved yet because of the lack of knowledge in food therapy process. Our system provides the service of food suggestion based on the input that is inserted by the user in sign-up form which are (height, weight, age, etc….).
Android Essentials
Android Essentials is a no–frills, no–nonsense, code–centric run through the guts of application development on Google's Mobile OS.
