The Distributed University for Sustainable Higher Education
Discusses the re-imagining of the higher education sector. It exposes problems that relate to the way that universities have become over-managed business enterprises which may not reflect societal, national, or global educational needs. From there, it proposes some solutions, including three innovative programs, that make universities more responsive to needs, as well as reduce their impact on the environment. The central idea of this book is developing the ‘Distributed University,’ which distributes education to where it is needed, reducing local and global inequalities in access, and emphasizing local relevance in place of large centralized campuses, with a low impact on the environment. It emphasizes the distribution of trust in place of managerialism and collaboration in place of competition.
The digital health in the pandemic era
Digital health, virtual assistance, and telemedicine are terms often used interchangeably to refer to remote medical assistance, monitoring and care. Several studies and insights have developed these issues, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages and successes and failures and offering reflections on the implications and issues of these technologies in the health domain. The results of these investigations are affecting the redesign of hospital and outpatient management based on digital innovation using eHealth and mHealth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this approach made it possible to offer assistance and continue care at home, protecting patients, preserving health workers, limiting the spread of the virus, and reducing the need for hospitalization. This reprint contains contributions dealing with the development of DH during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Diabetic Kidney
In The Diabetic Kidney, a stellar group of international researchers and clinicians joins forces to independently survey recent findings, ideas, and hypotheses about the causes and treatment of diabetic nephropathy. Drawing on many years of experience, the authors cover both the basic pathogenic mechanisms of the disease, as well as many of its clinical aspects of identification, management, and new therapeutic approaches. Not always in total agreement, their views reflect the present state of knowledge and its uncertainties, and offer a composite of different authoritative views on the causes of diabetic kidney disease.

The determinants of conventional Syrian banks profitability
Examines the impact of bank specific characteristics and macroeconomic variables on the profitability of Syrian banking industry by analysing balanced panel data from 2016 to 2019. A total of 11 Syrian conventional banks’ financial reports were analysed; The paper examines internal variables (bank-level indicators), which include financial leverage, liquidity, nonperforming loans and capital adequacy, as well as external variables, which include macroeconomic and industry-specific variables. The dependent variables used are return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE). A multi-regression model of panel data regression analysis is hired for the analysis. The results revealed that the profitability of banks is greatly affected by non-performing debt and the financial Leverage. The results are consistent with previous research conducted on the impact internal factors on the profitability of banks.
The Designers Guide to High-Purity Oscillators
Presents a comprehensive theory and design methodology for the design of LC CMOS oscillators used in every wireless transmission system. The presented theory includes both thermal and flicker noise effects
The dental reference manual : A daily guide for students and practitioners
Provides easily retrievable answers to common dental questions / Enables the student to learn key particulars and see the big picture / Serves the practitioner as a daily reference on important topics, materials, techniques, and conditions. Meets the needs of both dental students and dentists by providing succinct and quickly retrievable answers to common dental questions. Students will find both that it clearly presents the particulars which should be familiar to every dentist and that it enables them to see the “big picture” and contextualize information introduced to them in the future. Practicing dentists, on the other hand, will employ the book as a daily reference to source information on important topics, materials, techniques, and conditions. The book is neither discipline nor specialty specific. The first part is wide ranging and covers the essentials of dental practice while the second part addresses individual specialties and the third is devoted to emergency dental treatment. Whether as a handy resource in the student’s backpack or as a readily available tool on the office desk, this reference manual fills an important gap in the dental literature.
