This text extends and complements Schwabl’s introductory Quantum Mechanics, which covers nonrelativistic quantum mechanics and offers a short treatment of the quantization of the radiation field. New material has been added to this third edition of Advanced Quantum Mechanics on Bose gases, the Lorentz covariance of the Dirac equation, and the ‘hole theory’ in the chapter "Physical Interpretation of the Solutions to the Dirac Equation."
Advanced Numerical Methods to Optimize Cutting Operations of Five-Axis Milling Machines
Presents new optimization algorithms designed to improve the efficiency of tool paths for five-axis NC machining of sculptured surfaces. The book introduces the reader to fundamental issues involved in the tool path planning such as the kinematics of five-axis machines, types of 5 axis machines, part surface representation, machining strips, optimal tool orientation, gouging avoidance and forward step error. It also introduces new methods of optimization based on research conducted by the authors, including schemes performed in the spatial domain, angular domain as well as procedures to optimize the initial setup. Adaptive Learning of Polynomial Networks : Genetic Programming, Backpropagation and Bayesian Methods
This book provides theoretical and practical knowledge for develop ment of algorithms that infer linear and nonlinear models. It offers a methodology for inductive learning of polynomial neural network mod els from data. The design of such tools contributes to better statistical data modelling when addressing tasks from various areas like system identification, chaotic time-series prediction, financial forecasting and data mining. The main claim is that the model identification process involves several equally important steps: finding the model structure, estimating the model weight parameters, and tuning these weights with respect to the adopted assumptions about the underlying data distrib ution. When the learning process is organized according to these steps, performed together one after the other or separately, one may expect to discover models that generalize well.

I have been involved in the treatment of chronic renal insuf? new and unexpected pathological conditions have also appeared as complications of long-term dialysis. One of these involves polycystic changes and their malignant transformation in diseased kidneys. Since I have studied these polycystic changes and their malignant transformation for many years, I decided to compile the results of my work in a book. Such conditions of diseased kidneys pose serious problems, particularly in Japan, where renal transplantation is performed very infrequently compared with other countries, and a large number of patients are managed by dialysis over a long period.

Accountability for International Humanitarian Law Violations : The Case of Rwanda and East Timor
The main objective of this book is to make available to an informed audience a le gal and policy oriented study on accountability for serious human rights and inter national humanitarian law violations. It is an attempt to share the lessons learnt in accountability for atrocity crimes as conducted by the International Criminal Tri bunal for Rwanda (ICTR), and the United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET). The former established subsequent to egregious atrocities that took place in 1994, and the latter following the massive outburst of violence in 1999. The book is based on two cases: Rwanda and East Timor. It is expected that it will serve as reference literature to both the legal community and policy makers on accountability for heinous international crimes.
