The cellular automaton interpretation of quantum mechanics
Presents examples of models that are classical in essence, but can be analysed by the use of quantum techniques, and argues that even the Standard Model, together with gravitational interactions, might be viewed as a quantum mechanical approach to analysing a system that could be classical at its core. He shows how this approach, even though it is based on hidden variables, can be plausibly reconciled with Bell's theorem, and how the usual objections voiced against the idea of ‘superdeterminism' can be overcome, at least in principle. This framework elegantly explains - and automatically cures - the problems of the wave function collapse and the measurement problem. Even the existence of an “arrow of time" can perhaps be explained in a more elegant way than usual.
The Calculus of Computation : Decision Procedures with Applications to Verification
Computational logic is a fast-growing field with applications in artificial intelligence, constraint solving, and the design and verification of software and hardware systems. Written with graduate and advanced undergraduate students in mind, this textbook introduces computational logic from the foundations of first-order logic to state-of-the-art decision procedures for arithmetic, data structures, and combination theories. This textbook also presents a logical approach to engineering correct software. The increasing ubiquity of computers makes implementing correct systems more important than ever. Verification exercises develop the reader's facility in specifying and verifying software using logic. The treatment of verification concludes with an introduction to the static analysis of software, an important component of modern verification systems.

Although drugs have essential role in treatment, but also psychological factor has a big effect on this process, and that what behavioral medicine talking about. behavioral medicine can be defined as the field of research involving multiple disciplines concerned with the development and integration of biomedical and behavioral knowledge relevant to physical health and disease, and the application of this knowledge to etiology, prevention, health promotion, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and care.
The Autofictional : Approaches, Affordances, Forms
This book offers innovative and wide-ranging responses to the continuously flourishing literary phenomenon of autofiction. The book shows the insights that are gained in the shift from the genre descriptor to the adjective, and from a broad application of “the autofictional” as a theoretical lens and aesthetic strategy. In three sections on “Approaches,” “Affordances,” and “Forms,” the volume proposes new theoretical approaches for the study of autofiction and the autofictional, offers fresh perspectives on many of the prominent authors in the discussion, draws them into a dialogue with autofictional practice from across the globe, and brings into view texts, forms, and media that have not traditionally been considered for their autofictional dimensions.
The Augmented Spherical Wave Method : A Comprehensive Treatment
The Augmented Spherical Wave (ASW) method is one of the most powerful approaches for handling the requirements of finite basis sets in DFT calculations. While it is particularly suited for the calculation of the electronic, magnetic, and optical properties of solid-state materials, recent developments allow application, in addition, to the elastic properties and phonon spectra. The book addresses all those who want to learn about methods for electronic structure calculations and the ASW method, in particular.

The Amazing Journey of Reason : From DNA to Artificial Intelligence
This book explores questions such as why and how did the first biological cells appear? And then complex organisms, brains, societies and –now– connected human societies? Physicists have good models for describing the evolution of the universe since the Big Bang, but can we apply the same concepts to the evolution of aggregated matter –living matter included? The Amazing Journey analyzes the latest results in chemistry, biology, neuroscience, anthropology and sociology under the light of the evolution of intelligence, seen as the ability of processing information.
The agent modeling language - AML : A Comprehensive approach to modeling multi-agent systems
During this period it has already been recognized, and supported by both theoretical and practical evidence, that such systems have the potential to improve the practice in software engineering, and even to extend the range of applications that can feasibly be tackled. However, one important aspect of multi-agent systems that still lacks complete and proper definition, general acceptance and practical application, is that of modeling, despite the substantial efforts of an active research community. The focus of this book is thus on an approach to resolving this insufficiency by providing a comprehensive modeling language designed as an extension to UML 2.0, focused specifically on the modeling of multi-agent systems and applications. This language is AML—the Agent Modeling Language—the design of which is informed by previous work in this area while explicitly addressing known limitations relating to managing complexity and improving coverage and comprehension.
The Adria Microplate : GPS Geodesy, Tectonics and Hazards
Tectonic motion of the Adria microplate exerts a first-order control on the tectonics, geology, seismology, resource distribution, and the geological hazards across a broad zone of south-central Europe and the north-central Mediterranean. Since its first application to geodynamical problems, GPS geodesy has gradually revealed the nature of motion and deformation for most active areas of deformation across the Earth. One of the last remaining regional-scale problems on the planet is the motion and associated deformation in the peri-Adriatic region. Selected local-scale studies have examined aspects of this motion, but to date no truly regional analysis or regional team has systematically attacked the full breadth of this problem. A NATO Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) was held in Veszprém, Hungary from April 4-7, 2004.
The Adaptive Web : Methods and Strategies of Web Personalization
Following the increase in of the information available on the Web, the diversity of its users and the complexity of Web applications, researchers started developing adaptive Web systems that tailored their appearance and behavior to each individual user or user group. Adaptive systems were designed for different usage contexts, exploring different kinds of personalization. Web personalization has evolved into a large research field attracting scientists from different communities such as hypertext, user modeling, machine learning, natural language generation, information retrieval, intelligent tutoring systems, cognitive science, and Web-based education.
The 1-2-3 of Modular Forms : Lectures at a Summer School in Nordfjordeid, Norway
This book grew out of three series of lectures given at the summer school on "Modular Forms and their Applications" at the Sophus Lie Conference Center in Nordfjordeid in June 2004. The first series treats the classical one-variable theory of elliptic modular forms. The second series presents the theory of Hilbert modular forms in two variables and Hilbert modular surfaces. The third series gives an introduction to Siegel modular forms and discusses a conjecture by Harder. It also contains Harder's original manuscript with the conjecture.
