Ken Smith Landscape Architect : Urban projects
Ken Smith is one of the most interesting voices in landscape architecture today. His works reflect the intensity and energy of their surroundings and challenge the distinction between landscape and art. Ken Smith Landscape Architect/Urban Projects focuses on three prominent works in New York City: the East River Ferry Landings, P.S. 19, and a roof garden for the Museum of Modern Art. Featuring an interview with Ken Smith and extensive photographic documentation and drawings, as well as an essay by Nina Rappaport and a foreword by Peter Reed, the book reveals how each project expresses new relationships between landscape and place within the city

Kaposi Sarcoma Herpesvirus : New Perspectives
Since the identificationof two sequences fromKSHV,wehave learnedmuch about this pathogen as reflected in this book. As it turned out, KSHV itself encodes for a number of cytokines, and induces cellular cytokine secretion, contributing to tumour growth. Moreover, KSHV vFLIP targets the IKKNFκB axis to encourage the inflammatory microenvironment observed by Gallo and his colleagues. KSHV continues to elucidate both mechanisms of viral oncogenesis, and cellular and immune pathways involved in non-viral driven neoplasia.
Jurisdiction of the Coastal State over Foreign Merchant Ships in Internal Waters and the Territorial Sea
Dr Yang's book deals with the port and coastal State's jurisdiction over foreign merchant ships as well as with the rights and duties of these ships in the internal waters and in the territorial sea. The international law is rather different in both situations. Despite the fact that it faces a number of issues such as, for example, a contested right of access to ports or conditions for port access requirements, the law of foreign merchant ships in internal waters has never been codified. On the other hand, already the League of Nations considered the law of the territorial sea as appropriate for codification in the 1930s. And the Geneva Convention on the Territorial Sea and the Contiguous Zone of 1958 was indeed a codification of most rules of international law on the territorial sea known at that time.
Junge Perspektiven der Türkeiforschung in Deutschland = Young perspectives of Turkey research in Germany

It presents research results from young scientists who are characterized by a fresh view of Turkey, methodological diversity and interdisciplinary approaches. The volume thus contributes to a better understanding of the society, politics, economy, history and culture of the country, which is playing an increasingly important role both regionally and in the European context.
Julia - Bit by Bit : Programming for Beginners
The main goal of this book is to teach fundamental programming principles to beginners using Julia, one of the fastest growing programming languages today. Julia can be classified as a "modern" language, possessing many features not available in more popular languages like C and Java.
Journeys to a Graveyard : Perceptions of Europe in Classical Russian Travel Writing
Journeys to a Graveyard examines the descriptions provided by eight Russian writers of journeys made to western European countries between 1697 and 1880. The descriptions reveal the mentality and preoccupations of the Russian social and intellectual elites during this period. The travellers' perceptions of western European countries are treated here as an ambivalent response to a civilization with which Russia was belatedly coming into close contact as a result of the imperial ambition of the Russian state and the westernization of the Russian elites. The travellers perceived the most advanced European countries as superior to Russia in terms of material achievement and the maturity and refinement of their cultures, but they also promoted a view of Russia as in other respects superior to the western nations. Heavily influenced from the late eighteenth century by Romanticism and by the rise of nationalism in the west, they tended to depict European civilization as moribund. By this means they managed to define their own emergent nation in a contrastive way as having youth and promising futurity.
Journal on Data Semantics XI
The LNCS Journal on Data Semantics is devoted to the presentation of notable work that, in one way or another, addresses research and development on issues related to data semantics. The scope of the journal ranges from theories supporting the formal definition of semantic content to innovative domain-specific applications of semantic knowledge. The journal addresses researchers and advanced practitioners working on the semantic web, interoperability, mobile information services, data warehousing, knowledge representation and reasoning, conceptual database modeling, ontologies, and artificial intelligence.
Journal on Data Semantics VI
Data warehousing and semantic data mining • Spatial, temporal, multimedia and multimodal semantics • Semantics in data visualization • Semantic services for mobile users • Supporting tools • Applications of semantic-driven approaches These topics are to be understood as speci?cally related to semantic issues. Contributions submitted to the journal and dealing with semantics of data will be considered even if they are not within the topics in the list. While the physical appearanceof the journal issues looks like the books from the well-known Springer LNCS series, the mode of operation is that of a jo- nal. Contributions can be freely submitted by authors and are reviewed by the Editorial Board. Contributions may also be invited, and nevertheless carefully reviewed, as in the case for issues that contain extended versions of best papers from major conferences addressing data semantics issues. Special issues, foc- ing on a speci?c topic, are coordinated by guest editors once the proposal for a special issue is accepted by the Editorial Board.
John Dee : Interdisciplinary Studies in English Renaissance Thought
This volume records the diversity of scholarly approaches to John Dee which have emerged since the synthetic accounts of I. R. F. Calder, Frances Yates and Peter French. If these approaches have not succeeded in resolving the problematic multiplicity of Dee’s activities, they will at least deepen our understanding of specific and local areas of his intellectual life, and render them more historiographically legible.
JDF : Process Integration, Technology, Product Description
The arrival of PDF has successfully optimized certain elements of the production workflow – the next challenge facing the print media industry is to resolve the problem of non-networked software packages that exist in isolation. Businesses today need to identify process inefficiencies to ensure the successful process integration of the entire value added chain. The PDF document format and the vendor-independent JDF (Job Definition Format) provide the technical platform for devising new, fully integrated workflow solutions. Networking decisions involve virtually every department of a print service provider and lay down the direction of the company over the long term. These decisions offer opportunities, but they also harbor risks. If businesses are to make the right investment decisions, it is vital they have extensive background information on technical and business management issues. The authors provide focused information for decision makers looking for support in implementing networking projects successfully. This book is couched in straightforward language, explains and highlights relevant terms, and provides readers with numerous practical illustrations, graphics and checklists that they can apply to real-life applications.
