Analog Design Essentials

The book starts with elementary stages in building up operational amplifiers. The synthesis of opamps is covered in great detail, such that lowest power consumption is always guaranteed. Many examples are included, operating at low supply voltages. Chapters on noise, distortion, filters, ADC/DACs and oscillators follow. These are all based on the extensive amount of teaching that the author has carried out both at universities and companies world-wide. All chapters have been drawn up specifically for self-study. They aim, however, at different levels of understanding. All start with elementary material. Most chapters also contain advanced material, especially from Chapter 9 onwards.

Analog Design Centering and Sizing

This book represents a compendium of fundamental problem formulations of analog design centering and sizing. It provides a differentiated knowledge about the tasks of analog design centering and sizing. In particular the worst-case problem will be formulated. It stands at the interface between process technology and design technology.Analog Design Centering and Sizing wants to point out that and how both process and design technology are required for its solution. The intention is to enable analog and mixed-signal designers to assess CAD solution methods that are presented to them. On the other side, the intention is to enable developers of analog CAD tools to formulate and develop solution approaches for analog design centering and sizing. The structure of Analog Design Centering and Sizing is geared towards a combination of a reference book and a textbook. The formulations of tasks and solution approaches by mathematical means makes the book suitable as well for students dealing with analog design and design methodology.

Analisi matematica II : Teoria ed esercizi con complementi in rete = Mathematical analysis 2 : Theory and exercises with online complements

Intends to support a second teaching of Mathematical Analysis according to the principles of the new Didactic Regulations. It is especially designed for those study courses (such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics) in which the mathematical tool is a significant part of the training. The fundamental concepts and methods of the differential and integral calculus of several variables, the series of functions and the ordinary differential equations are presented with the primary objective of training the student in their operational but critical use. The didactic setting of the text follows the one used for ANALYSIS I. The method of presentation of the arguments allows a flexible and modular use of the text, in order to respond to the various possible didactic choices in the organization of a Mathematical Analysis course.

Analisi di Rasch e questionari di misura : Applicazioni in medicina e scienze sociali = Rasch analysis and measurement questionnaires: Applications in medicine and social sciences

Evaluation questionnaires are the most used tools nowadays in the field of medicine and the human sciences to evaluate variables such as disability, altruism or pain. However, clinicians are often unfamiliar with these tools. What do they really measure? How are the results to be interpreted? This book tries to answer these questions.

Anaesthesia, pain, intensive care and emergency medicine - A.P.I.C.E. ; Proceedings of the 19 th Postgraduate Course in Critical Care Medicine. Trieste, Italy - November 12-15, 2004

APICE 2004 has been organised to provide precise answers to these issues. In particular, considerable emphasis has been given to the reviews regarding the most important aspects - or the most significant clinical developments - in the sectors involving variety of functions: neurological, respiratory and cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, metabolism and perfusion; trauma infections, sepsis and organ failure; perioperative medicine and life support techniques; information technology dedicated to clinical medicine, but also as a means of information and education.

An Undergraduate Primer in Algebraic Geometry

This book consists of two parts. The first is devoted to an introduction to basic concepts in algebraic geometry: affine and projective varieties, some of their main attributes and examples. The second part is devoted to the theory of curves: local properties, affine and projective plane curves, resolution of singularities, linear equivalence of divisors and linear series, Riemann–Roch and Riemann–Hurwitz Theorems. The approach in this book is purely algebraic. The main tool is commutative algebra, from which the needed results are recalled, in most cases with proofs. The prerequisites consist of the knowledge of basics in affine and projective geometry, basic algebraic concepts regarding rings, modules, fields, linear algebra, basic notions in the theory of categories, and some elementary point–set topology.

An R and S-Plus® Companion to Multivariate Analysis

Most data sets collected by researchers are multivariate, and in the majority of cases the variables need to be examined simultaneously to get the most informative results. This requires the use of one or other of the many methods of multivariate analysis, and the use of a suitable software package such as S-PLUS or R. In this book the core multivariate methodology is covered along with some basic theory for each method described. The necessary R and S-PLUS code is given for each analysis in the book, with any differences between the two highlighted.

An Invitation to Statistics in Wasserstein Space

This book presents the key aspects of statistics in Wasserstein spaces, i.e. statistics in the space of probability measures when endowed with the geometry of optimal transportation.

An Invitation to Quantum Cohomology : Kontsevich's Formula for Rational Plane Curves

This book is an elementary introduction to stable maps and quantum cohomology, starting with an introduction to stable pointed curves, and culminating with a proof of the associativity of the quantum product. The viewpoint is mostly that of enumerative geometry, and the red thread of the exposition is the problem of counting rational plane curves. Kontsevich's formula is initially established in the framework of classical enumerative geometry, then as a statement about reconstruction for Gromov–Witten invariants, and finally, using generating functions, as a special case of the associativity of the quantum product.

An Invitation to Abstract Mathematics

this book begins with a playful exploration of the building blocks of mathematics, such as definitions, axioms, and proofs. A study of the fundamental concepts of logic, sets, and functions follows, before focus turns to methods of proof. Having covered the core of a transition course, the author goes on to present a selection of advanced topics that offer opportunities for extension or further study. Throughout, appendices touch on historical perspectives, current trends, and open questions, showing mathematics as a vibrant and dynamic human enterprise. This second edition has been reorganized to better reflect the layout and curriculum of standard transition courses. It also features recent developments and improved appendices. An Invitation to Abstract Mathematics is ideal for those seeking a challenging and engaging transition to advanced mathematics, and will appeal to both undergraduates majoring in mathematics, as well as non-math majors interested in exploring higher-level concepts.
