مشروع مركز الرصد الفلكي "Vision" يهدف إلى تطوير علم الفلك محلياً و تحفيز الأجيال القادمة على الاهتمام بهذا المجال العلمي . يتضمن المشروع ثلاثة أقسام رئيسية : قسم الرصد الفلكي ، القسم الثقافي (المتحف) ، والقسم الإداري . يقع المشروع في مدينة يعفور بريف دمشق ، غرب مدينة دمشق بمساحة 6 هكتارات وبعامل إشغال 25% . تم اختيار الموقع لقربه من العاصمة والطريق الدولي دمشق - بيروت ، محاطاً بمناطق سكنية وتعليمية وتجارية . يحتوي المشروع على مراصد مجهزة بقبة فلكية ، متحف تفاعلي ، قاعات تدريب ، و مكتبة متخصصة يضم أيضاً مساحات ترفيهية مثل قاعة IMAX ، صالة أطفال ، وكافتيريا . الهدف من التصميم هو الدمج بين التثقيف والترفيه ضمن بيئة معمارية معاصرة . المشروع يخدم فئات متعدةة تشمل الزوار ، الباحثين ، الطلاب و الإداريين.
Zukunft der Arbeit in Industrie 4.0 = Future of work in Industry 4.0
The future project "Industry 4.0", which represents a central element of the high-tech strategy of the federal government, aims at the computerization of the classic industries, such as e.g. B. industrial production. On the way to the Internet of Things, the merging of the virtual with the physical world to form cyber-physical systems and the resulting possible merging of technical processes with business processes should lead Germany as a production location into a new era. The technology program "Autonomics for Industry 4.0" of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) is part of the future project "Industry 4.0". This volume was created in the context of this programme. The book gives an overview of possible ways into the future of work under the conditions of autonomy and Industry 4.0. Key challenges, opportunities and risks are identified from the point of view of research, industry and the social partners. Exemplary design solutions from the areas of production and automation technology, robotics, virtual engineering, agricultural machinery and learning factories illustrate the trends presented in the book.

Similarly, chapters on consumer behaviour in social settings contextualised to young consumers including culture, sub-culture, family, and groups are incorporated into the book. X-rays for Archaeology
This book offers physicists, art historians, archaeologists, curators, and conservators a detailed overview via contributions written by leading scientists in the field. The book contains scientific data, i.e. in situ measurement data taken with portable XRF and XRD, and fine data taken with accelerating ion beams and synchrotron radiations, together with their explanations. Results obtained by traditional scientific methods are also reviewed. The broad data collection spans experimental data taken both from monuments in the field and exhibits in museums.Also included are data from glazes, ancient gold and silver coins, gold jewelleries, gold alloys, corroded metals, gemstones (ruby, emerald and garnet), painting pigments, pottery, bronze, obsidian, stucco, turquoise, and so on.
Wrong for the Right Reasons
The rapidity with which knowledge changes makes much of past science obsolete, and often just wrong, from the present's point of view. We no longer think, for example, that heat is a material substance transferred from hot to cold bodies. But is wrong science always or even usually bad science?
