Dr. Rahaf Ghazal

Dr. Rahaf Ghazal

A specialist in Applied Mathematics and Informatics, she earned her Ph.D. from Damascus University – Faculty of Science – Department of Mathematics, with a thesis titled "A Study on Modeling Operational Safety of Critical Systems." She also holds a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics, with a thesis on "Fault Tolerance Mechanisms in Parallel and Distributed Applications." Her academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from Damascus University.

She has held multiple teaching positions, working since 2022 as a faculty member at the Arab International University (AIU), where she teaches core courses such as: Introduction to Algorithms and Programming, Programming 1 and 2, Algorithms, Advanced Programming, and Automata and Formal Languages. Between 2015 and 2021, she worked at several Syrian universities, both public and private, including Damascus University, Al-Sham Private University, and the Arab International University, teaching various courses such as C++ Programming, Java, Algorithms and Data Structures, and Computer Skills.

She has published a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers in Syrian and international journals, addressing advanced topics including fault tolerance and modeling of checkpoint storage strategies.
