Algebra, Meaning, and Computation ; Essays dedicated to Joseph A. Goguen on the Occasion of His 65th Birthday
This Festschrift volume - published to honor Joseph Goguen on his 65th Birthday on June 28, 2006 - includes 32 refereed papers by leading researchers in the different areas spanned by Joseph Goguen's work. The papers address a broad variety of topics from meaning, meta-logic, specification and composition, behavior and formal languages, as well as models, deduction, and computation.The papers were presented at a Symposium in San Diego, California, USA in June 2006.

In this book, we present a collection of papers around the topic of agent com- nication. The communication between agents has been one of the major topics of research in multiagent systems. The current work can therefore build on a number of previous Workshops of which the proceedings have been published in earlier volumes in this series. The basis of this collection is formed by the accepted submissions of the Workshop on Agent Communication held in c- junction with the AAMAS Conference in July 2004 in New York. the current collection comprises a very good and quite complete overview of the state of the art in this area of research and gives a good indication of the topics that are of major interest at the moment. The papers can roughly be divided over the following ?ve themes: – social commitments – multiparty communication – content languages – dialogues and conversations – speech acts Although these themes are of course not mutually exclusive they indicate some main directions of research. We therefore have arranged the papers in the book according to the topics indicated above.

Advances in artificial intelligence: models, optimization, and machine learning
Contains all the articles accepted and published in the Special Issue “Advances in Artificial Intelligence: Models, Optimization, and Machine Learning” of the MDPI Mathematics journal, which covers a wide range of topics connected to the theory and applications of artificial intelligence and its subfields. These topics include, among others, deep learning and classic machine learning algorithms, neural modelling, architectures and learning algorithms, biologically inspired optimization algorithms, algorithms for autonomous driving, probabilistic models and Bayesian reasoning, intelligent agents and multiagent systems.
Advanced machine learning and deep learning approaches for remote sensing
Provides research on how technologies such as artificial intelligence-based machine learning and deep learning can be applied to remote sensing. Through this, we can see the process of solving the existing problems of image and image signal processing for remote sensing. These techniques are computationally intensive and require the help of high-performance computing devices. With the development of devices such as GPUs, remote sensing technology, and aerial sensing technology, it is possible to monitor the Earth with high-resolution images and to obtain vast amounts of Earth observation data. The papers published in this reprint describe recent advances in big data processing and artificial intelligence-based technologies for remote sensing technology.
Advanced artificial intelligence models and its applications
The field of artificial intelligence (AI) has undergone enormous expansion since its inception in the mid-20th century, as demonstrated by its application across an array of engineering and scientific challenges. Particularly in the last decade, AI has witnessed a significant breakthrough with the advent of deep learning, which has facilitated the employment of various AI models across a multitude of domains. This reprint features ten papers accepted for publication in the Special Issue titled "Advanced Artificial Intelligence Models and Their Applications," published in the MDPI Mathematics journal. The papers were carefully selected from the invited lectures given at the 50th Anniversary Summit of AI, held at the Centro Stefano Franscini, Monte Verità, Ascona, Switzerland, July 9-14, 2006. The summit provided a venue for discussions on a broad range of topics.
