The body maintains a biological rhythm called circadian rhythm which oscillates in cycles of 24 hours. This normal circadian rhythm orchestrates normal physiological cycles happening each day. The circadian rhythm controlled by both the internal genetic components of biological clock and external factors including those from nutrition and environment. Sleep disorder are common and affect sleep quality and quantity, leading to increase morbidity. Narcolepsy is characterized by excessive sleepiness cataplexy.
