The fundamental role of angiogenesis in tumor growth and spread has been known for over 30 years now. We have recently had effective anti-angiogenic drugs on many tumors. Their use requires a good knowledge of their mode of action, their side effects, their indications and their place in the therapeutic strategy. This work is therefore divided into three points: - It is first recalled the important role of tumor angiogenesis, the means available to evaluate it on histological samples, its practical modalities of use and the side effects of anti-cancer drugs. -angiogenic.- Then the therapeutic results obtained with the anti-VEGF antibodies and the anti-VEGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors are detailed for each of the tumors.- Finally, the positioning of these new molecules in the multidisciplinary strategy is discussed. - view of other processing methods.
