Under the auspices of minister of higher education, Dr. Atef Naddaf, Arab International University organized the first scientific conference in Administration, Finance, and Economy on March 9, 2017 in the Umayyad Hall, Shertaon Hotel.
The conference took up two main themes. The first one was finance and economics in which Dr. Kinan Yaghi, Dr. Riad Abdul Rauf, Dr. Alaa Salhani and Dr. Sulaiman Moussalli discussed a number of issues related to the financial sector, represented by Damascus stock exchange and banks.
Dr. Ziad Arbash and Dr. Ahmad Saleh presented a strategic framework for re-construction in Syria that included theoretical bases and a national approach. The second theme tackled administrative issues in which Dr. Samer Al-Dakkak suggested a model for change management in the Syrian business environment to keep pace with international developments taking into account the current crisis.
Dr. Seren Dalati addressed the importance of sustainable leadership and trust in the higher education sector for job satisfaction, and the importance of training programs in improving performance quality.
A scientific committee of different specialties and several Syrian universities reviewed researches presented in the conference in order to enhance the work of researchers to reach a scientific level that makes them viable for publication in international journals.
The conference ended with a number of recommendations by Dr. Ryad AbdAl-Rauoof Dr. Alaa Salhanee Dr. Kenan Bagheh. The most important ones are the issues of governance at the companies in order to activate their roles in performance improvement and risks reduction. They also emphasized the roles of Islamic banks to increase their efficiency and to vary their tools, and they provided practical examples about the relationship between the exchange rate and the performance of the stock exchange. In addition, they provided a strategic framework for re-construction in Syria.
