Eng. Maya Al-Zabibi

Faculty Member at the College of Architectural Engineering – Arab International University

An architect holding a Master’s degree in Planning and Environment from Damascus University, where her thesis focused on performance indicators in reconstruction projects in the housing sector – a case study of the city of Aleppo. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Damascus University, and her graduation project centered on the reconstruction of northern Damascus.

She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the College of Architecture – Arab International University (AIU), and has been managing her private firm, "Medad for Architectural and Administrative Consultations," since 2021. Previously, she worked as a Senior Engineer at Mohammad Assaf Architectural Engineering Office, where she contributed to the design approval of a dynamic tower in Marota City. She also taught at the International University for Science and Technology (IUST).

In 2013, she founded the volunteer initiative "Twenty Two" to support Arabic architectural academic content. She has participated in international conferences and workshops, including the Applied Research Partnership Conference at Damascus University and the Academic Women’s Empowerment Workshop in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and SANAD Group.

She holds several professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP) from Damascus University and the Engineers Syndicate, as well as an Engineering Consultancy Certification from East Lion International. She also participated in a workshop on resource investment organized in cooperation between Damascus University and the University of Oregon, USA.

She is proficient in design and planning software such as ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, GIS, Lumion, Photoshop, and Primavera, and possesses strong skills in team management, decision-making, visual coordination, and public relations.
