Eng. Abeer Maad

Faculty Member at the College of Architectural Engineering – Arab International University
An architect and consultant with over ten years of experience in university-level academic teaching and effective communication with students. Her professional journey combines academic work, engineering practice, and advanced expertise in the restoration of historical buildings and the rehabilitation of archaeological sites.

Since 2022 to date, she has held the position of faculty member at the College of Architectural Engineering at the Arab International University. Previously, she served as an academic staff member at Qalamoun University, where she taught a wide range of architectural courses and obtained an academic advising certificate.

She holds a Master’s degree in qualification and specialization in the restoration of historical buildings and the rehabilitation of archaeological and natural sites. She has participated in the surveying, study, and restoration of several heritage buildings in Old Damascus, in addition to her involvement in the team responsible for preparing the five plans for the Al-Salihiyah district.

Alongside her academic work, she works as a consulting engineer at the Engineers Syndicate in Rural Damascus – Douma Branch, where she reviews engineering projects. She has also managed her private engineering office since 2005 and has contributed to the design of numerous residential and commercial buildings in Rural Damascus.

She began her professional career at the Ministry of Tourism – Directorate of Tourism Projects, where she contributed to the design and supervision of several tourism projects. She also has prior experience in designing wedding invitations and advertisements for companies both within and outside Syria.

She excels in freehand drawing, architectural rendering, field surveying, and photogrammetry of heritage buildings. Annually, she participates in training groups of students to prepare them for admission competitions in colleges of architectural engineering and fine arts.
