Dr. Maya Jokdar
A distinguished academic and dentist specializing in Oral Pathology. She earned her Ph.D. in Histology and Oral Pathology from the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University, where she also obtained her Master’s degree and Higher Diploma in the same field, following her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Al-Baath University. Dr. Al-Naeem possesses over fifteen years of academic, educational, and clinical experience in university teaching, histological diagnosis, and clinical practice.
Throughout her career, she has taught at several public and private universities, delivering theoretical and practical courses in General and Oral Histology, as well as General and Oral Pathology. She has played a key role in supervising student training in educational laboratories and currently teaches theoretical components within the Department of Oral Medicine and Pathology at the Arab International University (AIU).
Dr. Al-Naeem currently serves as the Chair of the Qualification and Training Board for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology specialty within the Syrian Board of Medical Specializations. She is also the Head of the Oral Medicine and Pathology Department at AIU. Additionally, she serves as a scientific reviewer for the Damascus University Journal for Medical Sciences and has adjudicated numerous Master’s and Doctoral theses at Damascus University.
Her scientific contributions include a specialized textbook and several research papers published in peer-reviewed local and international journals. Her research focuses on Oral Cancers, Immunomarkers, Oral Lesions, and Histopathological Diagnosis. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and scientific forums, presenting specialized lectures aimed at developing diagnostic mechanisms and bridging the gap between pathology and clinical practice.
In addition to her academic roles, she has extensive clinical experience in dentistry through her private practice and various medical centers. She currently practices as a dentist and pathology specialist at Al-Naeem Medical Center.
