Dr. Rim Omar
She currently serves as the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Head of the Interior Architecture Department at the Arab International University, where she leads an academic team and contributes to curriculum planning, student project supervision, and scientific research. She also holds the position of Chief Editor of the "Praxis" journal in higher education, overseeing the peer-review process and editorial decisions for academic publications.
She founded and managed "Smart Design," an interior design company, leading the design and execution of residential, commercial, and exhibition projects in Syria, the UAE, Jordan, and Lebanon. Additionally, she worked at the engineering office of the Monte Rosa Resort, supervising the design of various spaces within the project.
She has numerous research publications in the fields of interior architecture, sustainable design, and decorative arts, along with participation in international conferences and workshops on sustainability, gender equality in higher education, and women's empowerment in academia.
She possesses advanced leadership and academic skills, along with proficiency in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising graduation projects, designing courses, and managing projects.
