Ph. Muhammad Ghannam

Researcher and lecturer in the field of pharmacognosy and medicinal plants, holding a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in pharmacognosy and medicinal plants from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Damascus University, after obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the same university. With over 14 years of academic experience in both practical and theoretical teaching of pharmacognosy, plant biology, and the history and legislation of pharmacy at several Syrian universities, most notably the Arab International University, Qasyoun University, and Al-Jazeera University.

His research focuses on studying medicinal plants widespread in Syria, their microscopic characterization, and evaluating their antibacterial and antifungal efficacy, as well as their ability to inhibit biofilm formation. Additionally, his work includes studying the effects of plant extracts in dissolving gallstones. He has published several scientific articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals, such as the Arab Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, PLOS ONE, and SN Applied Sciences.
