Ph. Alaa Majar

Academic Lecturer & Researcher in Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry

A holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Damascus University. She began her professional career as a licensed pharmacist (2015–2017) before transitioning into academia.

Academic Experience

Since 2017, she has been a distinguished faculty member at the Arab International University (AIU), where she has instructed various practical laboratory courses, including:

• Molecular Biology

• Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Drug Synthesis

• Pharmacognosy (Chemistry of Natural Products)

• Cell Biology and Genetics

From 2022 to 2025, she joined the faculty at Damascus University, teaching advanced laboratory modules in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Bacteriology, and Microbiology.

Research Contributions

She has contributed several scientific articles to the Damascus University Journal, focusing on biotechnology and clinical biochemistry, including:

• Study of Chitosan Production from Microfungi via Submerged Fermentation.

• Investigating the Correlation between Alkaline Phosphatase and Vitamin D among Pharmacy Students at AIU.

Humanitarian & Community Outreach

A dedicated volunteer since 2013 with the Nour Foundation for Relief and Development, she has actively participated in numerous humanitarian initiatives, most notably the Polio Vaccination Campaign in 2015.
