Dr. Hassan obiedo

Academic and legal expert, holding a Bachelor's degree in Law – Criminal Law from the University of Aleppo, followed by a Master's degree in Security Sciences – Criminal Investigation from Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in Riyadh, and finally a Ph.D. in Security Sciences – Police Sciences from the same university.

He began his professional career as an officer in the Syrian Ministry of Interior and advanced through various positions, including: instructor at the Police Academy, head of the Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry, and expert in the Rehabilitation and Training Administration. He has also worked as a lecturer at the Police Academy and the Police Officers Training Institute, and since 2021, he has been teaching at the Faculty of Law of the Arab International Private University (Criminal Law).

He participated in drafting and legislating numerous laws and regulatory systems in Syria, most notably: the Law on Private Security and Guard Companies, the Law on the Entry, Exit, and Residence of Arabs and Foreigners, the Civil Status Law, and the Personal Data Protection Law, in addition to contributing to draft laws under review, such as the Prisons Law and the Domestic Violence Law.

On the international stage, he represented the Ministry of Interior in multiple meetings and workshops and was a member of the working group responsible for reviewing legal provisions of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

He has authored prominent publications and research, including the book "Police Mechanisms for Confronting Domestic Violence Crimes" published by Naif University, and a university textbook currently in print titled "Criminal Procedure Law – Part One," in addition to contributing to the preparation of encyclopedias and collective works on the history of the Ministry of Interior and methodologies for criminal investigation in terrorism cases. He has also published numerous specialized legal articles and developed curricula in the fields of criminal investigation, community policing, and the fundamentals of scientific research.
