Dr. Tahani AlMula
Dr. Tahani Al-Malla is a distinguished academic specializing in criminal law, with a remarkable scientific and research career supported by teaching experience at several Syrian universities. She earned her PhD in Criminal Law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Damascus in 2023, following her Master’s degree in the same field in 2019, and her Bachelor’s degree in Law in 2014.
Dr. Tahani Al-Malla holds the position of Head of the Public Law Department at the Faculty of Law at the Arab International University. She currently works as a faculty member at both the University of Damascus and the Syrian Virtual University, in addition to her previous experience at Al-Sham Private University.
She is distinguished by her active scientific and research output in the field of criminal law, having published several papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals addressing pivotal topics. Most notable among these are: the justice of military trials, the principle of two-tier litigation in criminal cases, the effectiveness of the mediation system in the criminal field, and interrogation – a guarantee of rights or a threat to them during the preliminary investigation stage, in addition to other peer-reviewed scientific research. In her doctoral thesis, she addressed the impact of criminal judicial organization on achieving a fair trial, and in her Master's thesis, the role of the theory of nullity of criminal procedures in enhancing defendants' guarantees.
Alongside her research activity, Dr. Tahani Al-Malla participates in the preparation and development of academic curricula, supervises legal research and graduation projects, and contributes to the educational process using modern methods. She has also participated in several Arab scientific seminars via online platforms.
She possesses excellent teaching and academic communication skills, supported by proficiency in using modern educational technologies
