Dr. Hany Zienah
A Syrian judge and academic specializing in commercial law. He currently holds the position of President of the Seventeenth Civil Court of First Instance in Damascus since 2024, following a distinguished judicial career that included presiding over several civil and commercial courts. He also served as the Scientific Deputy of the Higher Institute of the Judiciary between 2021 and 2024, during which he contributed to the development of the training process for trainee judges.
He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Damascus, then earned a Master's degree in Commercial Law in 2016 with distinction for his research on the legal aspects of syndicated loans. In 2023, he earned a PhD in Commercial Law for his dissertation specializing in the legal aspects of government securities.
He possesses extensive academic experience, having taught courses on Procedures of Litigation and Rent Law at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary. He also taught Business Law courses, including companies, trademarks, and copyright, at Al-Qalamoun Private University and the Arab International University. He has participated as a lecturer in specialized legal workshops, including a workshop on trademark registration in Syria at the University of Damascus in 2024, and has taught at Al-Sham Private University.

President of the First Commercial Court of First Instance (Section B) in Damascus (2021–2024), which has been specialized in trademark disputes since 2023.
He also has experience in private legal practice, having worked as a lawyer in Damascus between 2012 and 2013, specializing in civil, commercial, and banking cases, as well as company incorporation.
He has participated in several advanced training courses inside and outside Syria, including courses in international arbitration, combating human trafficking, in addition to representing the Ministry of Justice in a regional arbitrator training course, and participating in Arab and international workshops in China and Syria on judiciary and international humanitarian law.
He has published several scientific research papers in peer-reviewed university journals, addressing topics such as syndicated bank loans, securities trading, and international financing contracts.
Dr. Hani Zeina is known for his balanced academic and judicial expertise, his contributions to the development of legal knowledge in the fields of companies, securities, and arbitration, as well as his active role in training and professionally preparing judges.
