This book includes the proceedings of the International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks (ICANN 2006) held on September 10-14, 2006 in Athens, Greece, with tutorials being presented on September 10, the main conference taking place during September 11-13 and accompanying workshops on perception, cognition and interaction held on September 14, 2006. The ICANN conference is organized annually by the European Neural Network Society in cooperation with the International Neural Network Society, the Japanese Neural Network Society and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. It is the premier European event covering all topics concerned with neural networks and related areas.
Artificial intelligence techniques for satellite image analysis
The main objective of this book is to provide a common platform for diverse concepts in satellite image processing. In particular it presents the state-of-the-art in Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies and shares findings that can be translated into real-time applications to benefit humankind. Interdisciplinary in its scope, the book will be of interest to both newcomers and experienced scientists working in the fields of satellite image processing, geo-engineering, remote sensing and Artificial Intelligence. Arabic talking heads
The need for someone to talk to about what is going on inside us while ensuring privacy has become a necessary requirement, especially since some people in our Arab societies judge people who visit a psychiatrist as mentally ill. Therefore, in this project, we propose a solution to the previous problem, where an Arabic-speaking robot, through an interactive chat application can mitigate the psychological and negative effects that humans are exposed to in various cases.
Anti-Spam Measures : Analysis and Design
The goal of this book is the methodical analysis of the potential, limitations, advantages, and drawbacks of anti-spam measures. These determine to which extent the measures can contribute to the reduction of spam in the long run. The range of considered anti-spam measures includes legislative, organizational, behavioral and technological ones. Furthermore, the conceptual development and analysis of an infrastructural email framework that features such a complementary application, is pointed out. The technological and organizational facets, the framework is analyzed twofold: its theoretical effectiveness is assessed with the aid of the formal model mentioned above, its storage and traffic requirements are analyzed quantitatively.
