Dr. Yousef Albass
An Associate Professor and Head of the Prosthodontics Department (Crowns and Bridges) at the Arab International University (AIU) and the International University for Science and Technology (IUST). He holds a Ph.D. in Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from Damascus University, where his doctoral thesis compared different types of dental ceramics in terms of biocompatibility and their effect on tooth wear. He also earned a Master’s degree in Prosthodontics from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Damascus University.
Dr. Al-Khatib began his academic career as a clinical supervisor, progressing to Assistant Professor, and ultimately reaching the rank of Associate Professor and Head of Department. He has taught a wide range of courses, including: Dental Occlusion, Dental Materials, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, Dental Anatomy, and Oral Rehabilitation.
In addition to his academic work, he has managed his private practice since 2012. His research contributions are published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, covering topics such as Dental Aesthetics, ideal dimensional ratios for anterior teeth, and wear factors resulting from various ceramic materials. Furthermore, he has authored scientific entries in the Great Arab Encyclopedia and delivered lectures at numerous national and international conferences, particularly those focused on Dental Implants and Oral Rehabilitation.
He possesses extensive experience in academic supervision and quality assurance, having served on academic accreditation and degree equivalency committees, alongside his contributions to curriculum development and the training of medical staff.
