Dr. Ahmad Warrak
Dr. Ahmad Warraq is a faculty member at the Faculty of Business Administration at the Arab International University in Syria, holding the rank of Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent). He possesses extensive academic and practical experience in the fields of human resource management, strategic management, and organizational leadership.
He earned his Doctorate in Management Sciences from the Higher Institute of Business Administration (HIBA) in Damascus, with his dissertation focusing on the impact of strategic human resource management on retaining key employees and the mediating role of employee well-being. He also obtained his Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from the same institute, reflecting a comprehensive and specialized academic trajectory in this field.
He teaches a wide range of university courses at the Arab International University, the Syrian Virtual University, the Higher Institute of Business Administration (HIBA), and Al-Sham Private University, most notably: Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Motivation, and Innovation Management. He also supervises a number of master's theses in quality management and technology management programs.
Alongside his academic work, he has held several prominent administrative positions at the Arab International University, including Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration (2024–2025) and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (2022–2024). He has also gained distinguished professional experience in the banking sector through his work at Bank Al-Sharq in Damascus, where he undertook multiple roles in human resource management, including Head of the Recruitment and Career Development Unit.
He has published a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers in reputable Arab and international journals addressing topics such as organizational trust, employee well-being, and employee retention. He also has a book published by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development in 2024 entitled Strategy for Retaining Competent Employees in Organizations.
He has participated in numerous training courses in Syria and Lebanon in the fields of strategic management, competency-based interviews, and HR metrics. He is also active in voluntary and professional work as a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and the Syndicate of Financial and Banking Professions.
