Dr. Essam Jamous

He is a Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics and a faculty member at the Faculty of Dentistry at Damascus University, as well as a lecturer at the Arab International University and the Syrian Virtual University. He holds a PhD in Fixed Prosthodontics from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom (2008), in addition to a Master’s degree, a Diploma, and a Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from Damascus University. He possesses over 25 years of educational and clinical experience across Syrian and British universities and is considered a prominent specialist in crowns and bridges, dental materials, dental occlusion, and the management of temporomandibular disorders.

He has held several academic and clinical positions, including clinical lecturer in the Department of Prosthodontics at the Dental Hospital of Newcastle University, and supervisor of practical applications in medical informatics, oral medicine, and dental radiology. He has also taught courses on crowns and bridges at several private Syrian universities and contributed to the development of the educational process through his supervision of numerous Master’s and Doctoral research projects and his participation in scientific jury committees.

He has published a large number of scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and participated in prestigious international conferences in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. In 2006, he received the British Society for Restorative Dentistry award in recognition of his research excellence. He is a member of several international scientific societies, including the British Society for Dental Research (BSDR), the British Society for Restorative Dentistry (BSRD), and the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).

His scientific interests focus on fixed prosthodontics, dental materials, occlusion, and temporomandibular disorders, in addition to medical education and the development of learning environments in dental faculties.
