Prof. Dr. MHD Said Desouki
Academic and researcher in Computer Engineering and Databases, with over twenty years of academic and research experience in the fields of databases, information systems, Arabic language processing, text mining, and information retrieval. He supervises the teaching of advanced courses such as Database Fundamentals, Advanced Databases, and Compiler Design, in addition to supervising undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral projects.
He received his PhD in Computer Engineering from Joseph Fourier University – Grenoble 1 in France, after earning his Master's degree from the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INP Grenoble), and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology in Damascus.
He has held several leadership and academic positions, including: Vice Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Communication Engineering, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Head of the Department of Information Systems at the Arab Academy for E-Business, and Research Director at the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology. He also worked as a Database Consultant at the Damascus Securities Exchange and participated in the establishment and development of several national information systems.
He has made extensive research contributions and published numerous papers in peer-reviewed international journals in the fields of big data, deep learning, social network analysis, Arabic language processing, and intrusion detection systems. He has also participated in pioneering research projects such as handwriting recognition in historical Arabic manuscripts, the Interactive Arabic Lexicon, and the Arabic Morphological Analyzer.
He is an active member of the scientific community, having served on scientific committees of international conferences, delivered keynote speeches at several of them, and served on the editorial boards of scientific journals. He also has extensive experience in supervising Master's and Doctoral theses at Syrian and international universities.
