Prof. Dr. George Karaz
Faculty Member at the College of Informatics Engineering – Arab International University
A university professor and academic researcher specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Medical Informatics. He holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of Pavia – Italy, after obtaining a postgraduate diploma in Biomedical Engineering from Damascus University and a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same university. He has held high-level academic and administrative positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Informatics Engineering, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department, and Technical Advisor. He has also participated in national and international projects focused on higher education reform and the development of health information systems.
His research interests focus on the applications of deep learning in medical diagnosis, network security, analysis of biological signals, and intelligent educational systems. He has a rich academic record, including peer-reviewed publications and university textbooks in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Databases. He contributes to strategic planning for education quality and academic accreditation and works on leveraging modern technologies to support sustainable development in higher education institutions.
