Advances in computer systems architecture ; Vol. 4186 : 11th Asia-Pacific Conference, ACSAC 2006, Shanghai, China, September 6-8, 2006, Proceedings
This is the 11th in a series of conferences, which started life in Australia, as the computer architecture component of the Australian Computer Science Week. In 1999 it ventured away from its roots for the first time, and the fourth Australasian Computer Architecture Conference was held in the beautiful city of Sails (Auckland, New Zealand). Perhaps it was because of a lack of any other computer architecture conference in Asia or just the attraction of traveling to the Southern Hemisphere but the conference became increasingly international during the subsequent three years and also changed its name to include Computer Systems Architecture, reflecting more the scope of the conference, which embraces both architectural and systems issues. In 2003, .
Advanced Web and Network Technologies, and Applications ; APWeb 2006 International Workshops : XRA, IWSN, MEGA, and ICSE, Harbin, China, January 16-18, 2006, Proceedings
The QOS evaluating model for computational grid nodes put forward can help greatly improving the self-adaptability of resource management and accelerating the appli- tion and development of Computational Grid. Now this model has been applied in NPU Campus Computational Grid. And the good effect brought by it has effectively proved its function. References 1. Foster, I. and C. Kesselman, eds. Advanced Information Systems Engineering ; 14th International Conference, CAiSE 2002 Toronto, Canada, May 27-31, 2002 Proceedings
The explosive growth of the Internet and the Web have created a never-growing demand for information systems, and ever-growing challenges for Information Systems Engineering. The series of Conferences on Advanced Information S- tems Engineering (CAiSE) was launched in Scandinavia by Janis Bubenko and Arne Solvberg in 1989, became an important European conference, and was held annually in major European sites throughout the 1990s. Now, in its 14th year, CAiSE was held for the first time outside Europe, showcasing international research on information systems and their engineering. Not surprisingly, this year the conference enjoyed unprecedented attention.
Advanced Concepts for Intelligent Vision Systems ; Vol. 4179 ; 8th International Conference, ACIVS 2006, Antwerp, Belgium, September 18-21, 2006, Proceedings
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Advanced Concepts for Intelligent Vision Systems, ACIVS 2006, held in Antwerp, Belgium in September 2006. The 45 revised full papers and 65 revised poster papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from around 242 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on noise reduction and restoration, segmentation, motion estimation and tracking, video processing and coding, camera calibration, image registration and stereo matching, biometrics and security, medical imaging, image retrieval and image understanding, as well as classification and recognition.

Active Lighting and Its Application for Computer Vision : 40 Years of History of Active Lighting Techniques
Computer vision entails both passive and active illumination techniques. Whereas passive techniques observe the scene statically and analyse it as is, by contrast active techniques give the scene some actions and try to facilitate the analysis. In particular, active illumination techniques project specific light, for which the characteristics are known beforehand, to a target scene to enable stable and accurate analysis of the scene.
Accessing Multilingual Information Repositories ; 6th Workshop of the Cross-Language Evaluation Forum, CLEF 2005, Vienna, Austria, 21-23 September, 2005, Revised Selected Papers
The sixth campaign of the Cross Language Evaluation Forum (CLEF) for European languages was held from January to September 2005. CLEF is by now an established international evaluation initiative and 74 groups from all over the world submitted results for one or more of the different evaluation tracks in 2005, compared with 54 groups in 2004. There were eight distinct evaluation tracks, designed to test the performance of a wide range of systems for multilingual information access. Full details regarding the design of the tracks, the methodologies used for evaluation, and the results obtained by the participants can be found in the different sections of these proceedings.
Accelerated GWT : Building Enterprise Google Web Toolkit Applications
Ajax is a web development technique that takes advantage of JavaScript to display and interact dynamically with information embedded into a web page. Its emergence has made it possible to create web applications that closely resemble their desktop–based brethren. With this exciting new ability came several challenges; not only did developers have to learn JavaScript, but they were also forced to use inefficient development processes, not to mention deal with cross–platform and browser difficulties. But with the release of Google Web Toolkit (GWT), Java developers are able to continue using their favorite language to write powerful Ajax applications while using not only the Java language, but also the very same development tools they're already using on a daily basis!
3D Imaging, Analysis and Applications
This textbook is designed for postgraduate studies in the field of 3D Computer Vision. It also provides a useful reference for industrial practitioners; for example, in the areas of 3D data capture, computer-aided geometric modelling and industrial quality assurance. This second edition is a significant upgrade of existing topics with novel findings. Additionally, it has new material covering consumer-grade RGB-D cameras, 3D morphable models, deep learning on 3D datasets, as well as new applications in the 3D digitization of cultural heritage and the 3D phenotyping of crops.
3D design reconstruction
This report will talk about a way to design and rebuild a cheap, true-to-the-truth 3D system using reverse engineering. The system provides the service of reconstructing objects into 3D models by placing the object in a predetermined place facing a set of sensors and cameras at a certain distance and at precise angles, using the angle of rotation for each image and combining the points of triangulation we can build a form of 3D modeling types. These models can be used in digital animation or printed with 3D printers for a wide variety of applications.
