Tedx Arab International University

A distinctive group of university students under the supervision of Dr. Jihad Yacoup, director of training and development in the Arab International University,

organized  TEDxArabInternationalUniversity, the International Conference on Sunday 23/10/2016 on the  Damascus University Conference Theater  (formerly) Rida Said.

The conference included seven speakers on multiple topics, including entrepreneurship and stereotypical thinking and its impact on the development of our society, particularly at this critical stage in the our beloved country.

Speakers from various disciplines told inspiring stories. The speakers are: Moa'ayad Hijazi (founder of Sanad Association), Professor Mohammed Shehadeh Agha (neurologist), Maya Bastalides ( Founder of Direct Company ), Yaman Abu Jaib (inventor of gleen), Iyad Yacoup ( Director at Digital Communities at Stanford University) , Yaman Zidan (Syrian youth representative in the World Youth Organization), Loujain Baghdadi (a student at the Faculty of Business Administration).

It is worth mentioning that:
TED is a nonprofit organization with a slogan "spreading ideas worth spreading," TED was launched during a conference that lasted over four days in the city of Monterrey in California twenty-five years ago.

TED  has developed into an annual event that supports creative ideas through multiple initiatives, most importantly, inviting senior intellectuals of the world to talk about their experiences in 18 minutes.

Many celebrities participated in TED such as:
Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Jane Goodall, Philippe Starck, Nanden Nilekani, Gordon Brown, former British prime minister.

Ted is featured by media initiatives posted on its website daily.
Ted X is a program established by the Ted Organization of American in 2009. Individuals get a license to publish ideas that are worth spreading in different countries  to organize local conferences.

TED Conference provides Ted X program with general guidance, but organizing TEDX is autonomous.
These local autonomous activities are known as Ted X, it means that X is a TED event organized independently and is subject to certain rules and regulations.
