Speech of Dr. Ajaj Saleem, Deputy Dean of the College of Arts for Administrative Affairs, Head of the Drama Arts and Film Direction

Dear University Council,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Dear students of Arab International University.

A loving greeting in the time of Corona ...



Perhaps you have heard or some of you heard that our esteemed university has added to the diamond contract consisting of the colleges and departments of the university a new section..It is an integrated project for a distinguished college for drama arts in the future ... and this department is now part of the college of art in our university.

We are proud that the International Arab University is the first academic institution in Syria to open an academic department to study cinematography..and the first university in Damascus to open a section for acting ... and this for truth and history is a cultural achievement ... especially in such difficult circumstances that our beloved country Syria has gone through .. A goal that was not easy to achieve ... without the determination and persistence ... and believing in the role of respectful and true art in order to create positive effects in society in light of the great influence of cinema, television and theater on the lives of people everywhere in the world.

A group of talented students has been accepted at the beginning of the second semester this year..and we hope that their presence..and their work..with a distinguished group of the finest distinguished technical teaching cadres..a real contribution and an active factor for the development of cinema, theater and television in Syria And the Arab world ..

And because hope..the key to the future door..your colleagues in this department..and with the study being stopped due to corona .. they decided with their teachers to continue working and communicating through social media. It is an experience that may happen for the first time ... not in Syria..and perhaps at the regional level ... and the goal was not the achievement itself. Rather, the desire was for sure that nothing stops life .. except its creator.

And accordingly .... perhaps every day we will give you some of what we do together (students and professors) .. whether in directing or acting..and it is a simple invitation.. addressed to all .. we want to say through it..the next is better, God willing.

Knowing that these students did not attend the university for only two days ... that is, everything that is accomplished is via video or audio recordings ... This work was done during the past two weeks ... and it is still continuing..and all this was done thanks to the efforts of teachers .. and the enthusiasm of students and support the university council and its board of directors.

This is a message of loving. .a call for the holding the hope and strongly the faith in Allah and in your values.
