"PARACONE" parametric strategies in Architecture – Materials and Fabrication Workshop. MORE THAN 65 WORKING HOURS / 20 AMAZING WORKHOLIC STUDENTS – More than 6400 folded Cone. 40 Square Meter.
Parametric design, Art and digital Fabrication Workshop “PARACONE 2017” In the intensive 5 days’ full time Workshop; we focused exclusively on introducing Morphogenesis, evolving strategies in art, Pattern finding and optimizing complex geometry in conjunction with economic efficiency, environmental impact.
During the processes of the workshop, the participants arrived to final design throughout many experiments and after many experimental prototypes and tests we decided to generate the final real scale installation by unfolding the final units using Rhino.
Within the studied evolving systems, whether Digital or physical, a base structural principle becomes the foundation for intelligent pattern generation.
The result may not be read as typical or predictable, but offers an optimized solution capable of adaptation and growth. Piece of art and architecture, rather than simply playing with digital tools or mimic the form of such systems, this approach to real scale fabrication uses foundational principles as a means of developing new, informed patterns of connection and territory.
Challenged by the time of the workshop (5 intensive days) and the number of the units, students worked for the final real scale installation, where real-life issues like project budget and team work and the advantage of using advanced design tools and strategies were tackled.
Impressive phosphoric light created by the students Interstices in a synaptic space.each cone was brushed with the green phosphoric cream, where in daylight it never appear but in dark it turns to a colorful amazing green light.
