Dr. Ehssan Sattouf.

 

He is a Syrian artist and academic specializing in printmaking and graphic arts. He holds a PhD in Philosophy in Fine Arts from Helwan University, Egypt, a Master’s degree in Fine Arts (Graphic Arts), and a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts – Printmaking and Graphics from the University of Damascus.

He currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the Arab International University (AIU) and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Graphic Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Damascus, where he began teaching in 2006. He has also held faculty positions at prestigious Jordanian universities, including Irbid National University and Jadara University, contributing to the establishment of the Graphic Design Department at Irbid University.

He teaches a wide range of university courses in graphic design, artistic printing, aesthetics, art criticism, and video arts, and supervises Master’s theses and PhD dissertations at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Damascus. He serves on numerous academic and artistic juries, making him a leading reference in visual arts and graphic design in the region.

He has published many peer-reviewed articles in local and international journals on topics such as the aesthetic debate between beauty and ugliness, collagraph and monotype techniques, visual perception and movement in art, the integration of literature and art, and the creation of printed compositional works.

Dr. [Name] has a prolific artistic career, exhibiting his work in dozens of local, Arab, and international exhibitions, including the Cairo Biennale, Alexandria Biennale, Graphic Arts Triennale in Egypt, as well as exhibitions in Malaysia, Italy, China, and the Sultanate of Oman.
