Dr. Marwan Al-Hajji

Faculty Member at the College of Architectural Engineering – Arab International University

Retired Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Power Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, University of Homs. Currently serving as a faculty member at the College of Architectural Engineering, Arab International University. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechanical Power from Damascus University. He pursued his postgraduate studies in the Soviet Union, where he earned a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences with a specialization in Machine Design from the Moscow Institute of Machine Building.

Throughout his career, he has held numerous significant academic and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Mechanical Power Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, University of Homs, and Director of the Open Learning Center at the university for several years. He also served as Secretary of Al-Qalamoun Private University during two different periods, in addition to his role as Secretary of the University of Homs between 2008 and 2011. In 2014, he moved to the Syrian Private University, where he held the position of Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs until 2017.

Since 2017, he has been a faculty member at the Arab International Private University in Damascus, teaching courses in Thermal Design and Technical Installations in Buildings, sharing his extensive expertise with students of architectural and civil engineering. He also served as President of the Arab Private University for Science and Technology between 2022 and 2023.

He has taught a wide range of university courses in the fields of Engineering Mechanics, Machine Design, Hydraulic Machinery, Building Installations, and Transport and Lifting Machinery for students specializing in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, and Interior Design.

He has participated in numerous training courses and national and international scientific conferences and has published several research papers addressing advanced topics in machine design, hydraulic systems, maintenance mechanisms, and compressed air circuit analysis. He is also the author of two university textbooks on machine elements, available in both theoretical and practical editions.
