Dr. Hussam Debs w Ziet
A Syrian artist and designer specializing in interior architecture and theatrical scenography, combining visual arts with academic teaching.
He has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University since 2009 and teaches in the Interior Architecture Department at the Arab International University.
He delivers theoretical and practical courses in interior design, aesthetics, and architectural history, and supervises graduation projects.
He holds a PhD in Fine Arts from Damascus University; his dissertation examined the relationship between stage décor and interior architecture in the 20th century through a comparative analytical study between Europe and the Arab region.
He also earned a Master’s degree from Helwan University in Egypt, focusing on puppet theatre between modernity and heritage.
He served as Head of the Interior Architecture Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University (2019–2023).
He taught at several Syrian private universities and at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, contributing to curriculum development and strengthening links to contemporary professional practice.
He published peer-reviewed research on the aesthetics of color, Arab architectural heritage, and theatrical scenography.
He is proficient in multiple design tools, including AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.
