Abstract

This study, to our knowledge, is the first to conduct a field screening of Visceral Leishmaniasis in both Idleb and Latakia in Syria, and to investigate the prevalence of Visceral Leishmaniasis in these areas. Detection of Visceral Leishmania antibodies is done using the immune assay by gel ID-PaGIA Leishmaniasis antibody test "Dia Med company". New VL positive antibodies rates were recorded in both rural Idleb 13.5% and rural Latakia 15%.
