Technologies for e-services ; Vol. 3324 ; 5th International Workshop, TES 2004, Toronto, Canada, August 29-30, 2004, Revised Selected Papers
It featured the presen- tion of 12 regular papers, focused on major aspects of e-business solutions. In addition, the workshop invited 2 industrial speakers to share their vision, insight and experience with the audience. The workshop would not have been a success without help from so many people. Special thanks go to Fabio Casati, who organized the program agenda and the proceedings publication, and Chandra Srivastava, who served as the publicity chair.

Semantic web services and web process composition ; 1st International Workshop, SWSWPC 2004, San Diego, CA, USA, July 6, 2004, Revised Selected Papers
The workshop presented what can be achieved by the symbiotic s- thesis of two of the hottest R&D and technology application areas, Web services and the Semantic Web, as recognized at the 12th International World Wide Web conference (WWW 2003) and in the industry press. The emphasis of the workshop was mainly on Web services, Web processes and semantics which are important movements emerging in the World Wide Web. Web services and Web processes promise to ease several current infr- tructure challenges, such as data, application, and process integration. Web s- vices are truly platform-independent and allow the development of distributed, loosely coupled applications, a key characteristic for the success of dynamic Web processes.
Semantic Service Provisioning
This book introduces advanced concepts in service provisioning and service engineering, including semantic concepts, dynamic discovery and composition, and illustrates them in a concrete business use case scenario. To prove the validity of the concepts and technologies, a semantic service provisioning reference architecture framework as well as a prototypical implementation of its subsystems and a prototypical realization of a proper business scenario are presented. Thus the book goes way beyond current service-based software technologies by providing a coherent and consistent set of technologies and systems functionality that realizes advanced concepts in service provisioning.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed postproceedings of the Second International Workshop on Rapid Integration of Software Engineering Techniques, RISE 2005, held in Heraklion, Crete, Greece in September 2005.
