New Technologies in Radiation Oncology

This book provides an overview of recent advances in radiation oncology, many of which have originated from physics and engineering sciences. After an introductory section on basic aspects of 3D medical imaging, the role of 3D imaging in the context of radiotherapy is explored in a series of chapters on the various modern imaging techniques. A further major section addresses 3D treatment planning for conformal radiotherapy, with consideration of both external radiotherapy and brachytherapy. Subsequently the modern techniques of 3D conformal radiotherapy are described, including stereotactic radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided and adaptive radiotherapy, and radiotherapy with charged particles. More clinically oriented chapters explore the use of brachytherapy in patients with prostate cancer, cardiovascular disorders and breast cancer. The book concludes with a section on quality assurance.

New technical approaches and medications to improve fertility for women in Syria

Egg freezing is one way of preserving a woman's fertility so she can try to have a family in the future. It involves collecting a woman's eggs, freezing them and then thawing them later on so they can be used in fertility treatment. Egg freezing won't lower your ovarian reserve and won't decrease your chances of getting pregnancy naturally in the future. To understand why, we will first of all focus on the ovulation process. During each menstrual cycle—typically each month—one egg makes it through the whole ovulatory process, and we will discuss all the reasons which may suggest to do such a specific process in women such as being in malignant diseases and the risk of its side effects of this therapy on fertility for example this medication or radiation therapy mainly in a abdomen area is reducing fertility beside other types of medications mentioned in this research

Multiscale Optimization Methods and Applications

One general strategy for dealing with a large or difficult problem is to partition it into smaller ones, which are hopefully much easier to solve, and then work backwards towards the solution of original problem, using a solution from a previous level as a starting guess at the next level. The topics of the chapters selected for this volume are focused on the development of new solution methodologies, including general multilevel solution techniques, for tackling difficult, large-scale optimization problems that arise in science and industry. Applications presented in the book include but are not limited to the circuit placement problem in VLSI design, a wireless sensor location problem, optimal dosages in the treatment of cancer by radiation therapy, and facility location.

Image-Guided IMRT

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), one of the most important developments in radiation oncology in the past 25 years, involves technology to deliver radiation to tumors in the right location, quantity and time. Unavoidable irradiation of surrounding normal tissues is distributed so as to preserve their function. The achievements and future directions in the field are grouped in the three sections of the book, each suitable for supporting a teaching course.

Hidradenitis Suppurativa

This is the first and most comprehensive book perts to give their opinion and interpretation of dedicated to the understanding and treatment the disease, and left our own point of view to the of hidradenitis suppurativa. The most recent chapters summarizing pathogenesis and the- monograph on this disease was Dr Benedek’s py. At points you may therefore find discussions supplement to Acta Dermatovenerologica in of e. g.

Glucoszmine and Chondroitin between reality and tllusion

Despite the development of cancer treatments and the introduction of new treatments other than traditional treatments, the death rate is still high around the world for each type of cancer. Although conventional treatments are still common, as a first method in treatment, advanced new treatments have opened new horizon and have shown good efficacy in inhibiting cancer, either by treating them alone or in combination with conventional treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy. We mention in this research the latest methods of cancer treatment, such as targeted therapies in the treatment of solid cancers and leukemia. and will also mention the annual incidence rates of lines around the world. In cooperation with the head of the hematology division at the Mouwasat Hospital, Dr. Amin Suleiman, we studied cases of CML and MM patients being treated with modern therapies.

Fundamentals of Cancer Detection, Treatment, and Prevention

The book offers a comprehensive overview of cancer in humans, from its causes, symptoms, and diagnosis to the variety of treatment options available today. Intuitively organized by cancer type, this guide provides concise information on risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment options for all commonly encountered tumors, including surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.

Management of Early Stage Breast Cancer : Basics and Controversies

Breast cancer, its causes, early detection and treatment have received considerable attention, since this widespread disease is one of the most important health concerns for women. This book provides a comprehensive overview of the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the management of early-stage breast cancer, including essential information on basic topics like pathology, and radiology, as well as the latest developments. Further, it discusses all aspects of surgical care, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, together with the controversies and current management guidelines.

Brain Metastases

Brain metastases are the most dreaded complication of systemic cancer, affecting approximately 170,000 people a year, a far greater incidence than primary brain tumors. Advances in modern chemotherapy have led to an improved control of system cancers, often with agents that poorly penetrate the central nervous system, resulting in an increasing incidence of brain metastases. Traditional chemotherapy has had little impact on brain metastases. The main therapeutic option is radiation therapy, and in a small number of patients - surgery. However, refinements in all of these treatments offer some positive outcomes and an increased ability to stratify patients based on certain criteria.

Arum palaestenium in cancer therapies

Cancer is a very complicated sequence of disease conditions progressing gradually with a generalized loss of growth control.1–3 There were only a few options of cancer treatment for patients for many decades which include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy as single treatments or in combination.4,5 But recently, many pathways involved in cancer therapy progression and how they can be targeted has improved dramatically, with combinatorial strategies, involving multiple targeted therapies or “traditional” chemotherapeutics, such as the taxanes and platinum compounds, being found to have a synergistic effect.6 New approaches, such as drugs, biological molecules, and immune-mediated therapies, are being used for treatment.
