Games Without Frontiers? : Socio-historical Perspectives at the Gaming/Gambling Intersection
This book focuses on how and why digital games and gambling are increasingly intertwined and asks “does this matter?” Looking at how “loot boxes” became the poster child for the convergence of gambling and gaming, Wardle traces how we got here. She argues that the intersection between gambling and gaming cultures has a long lineage, one that can be traced back throughout the 20th century but also incorporates more recent trends like the poker boom of the 1990s, the development of social media gambling products and the development of skin betting markets.

يهدف المشروع إلى تصميم وإنشاء نادٍ متكامل للفروسية يُعنى برعاية الخيول وتدريبها وفق أعلى المعايير الحديثة. يوفر النادي بيئة مناسبة لمحبَي رياضة الفروسية، حيث يجمع بين الجانب الرياضي والترفيهي والتعليمي. يتضمن المشروع دراسة متكاملة لتخطيط المساحات، تصميم الإسطبلات، الميادين التدريبية، مرافق الرعاية البيطرية، والمناطق الخصصة للزوار. كما يهدف إلى تعزيز ثقافة الفروسية في المجتمع، والمحافظة على الخيل العربي الأصيل، وتوفير تجربة آمنة وممتعة للمشتركين والزوار. يعتمد المشروع على معايير الاستدامة في التصميم والمواد المستخدمة بما يحقق التوازن بين الجمال والوظيفة. تمت دراسة احتياجات الخيول من حيث التغدية، الإيواء، والنظافة بما يضمن سلامتها وصحتها الجسدية والنفسية، مع تخصيص مرافق بيطرية مجهزة بأحدث الأدوات لخدمتها على مدار الساعة. كما تم الآخد بعين الاعتبار تطبيق معايير الأمان للخيول والفرسان على حدٍ سواء. ويعد المشروع نموذجاً متكاملاً يجمع بين الجمال المعماري والوظائف العملية، مسهماً في دعم السياحة الداخلية وتطوير البيئة التحتية الرياضية في المنطقة، إضافةً إلى خلق فرص تدريب وتشغيل ضمن قطاع الفروسية في المجتمع المحلي.

Marijuana and the Cannabinoids
Although primarily used today as one of the most prevalent illicit leisure drugs, the use of Cannabis sativa L., commonly referred to as marijuana, for medicinal purposes has been reported for more than 5000 years. Marijuana use has been shown to create numerous health problems, and, consequently, the expanding use beyond medical purposes into recreational use (abuse) resulted in control of the drug through international treaties. Macrophytes and macrophytes ecology have gained an added importance with the introduction of, and legal requirement to implement, the European Water Framework Directive. This reflects the valuable role that aquatic plant communities play in assessing the ecological status of water bodies. Significant changes in the status and general abundance of these communities has been recorded in the last three decades, consequent on such factors as global warming and, increasingly, on the spread of aggressive alien species. These changes have been most felt in those waters that are exploited for amenity and recreational pursuits. The increased biomass of aquatic vegetation in water bodies has adversely impacted on leisure use of these systems but has also impacted on their use for agricultural, flood relief, municipal and domestic purposes. The loss to national economies resulting from this excessive plant biomass has been appreciable and has put pressure on water managers to develop weed control procedures that are efficient, environmentally sensitive and cost-effective.
