Contains the proceedings of the second IFIP TC8 Working Conference on Mobile Information Systems which was held in December 2005 in Leeds, UK and sponsored by the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP). Hemostasis in Dentistry
Offers a thorough, clinically oriented review of hemostasis and its impact on the practice of dentistry. Readers will gain a sound understanding of the pathophysiology of hemostasis and the pharmacology of antithrombotic and prothrombotic medications. Perioperative dental management strategies of value in patients with different congenital and acquired disorders of hemostasis are carefully explained, and the role of surgical techniques and local and topical agents in helping to minimize and control bleeding is described. Handbook of molecular force spectroscopy
Modern materials science and biophysics are increasingly focused on studying and controlling intermolecular interactions on the single-molecule level. Molecular force spectroscopy was developed in the past decade as the result of several unprecedented advances in the capabilities of modern scientific instrumentation, and defines a number of techniques that use mechanical force measurements to study interactions between single molecules and molecular assemblies in chemical and biological systems. Examples of these techniques, which typically target a specific range of experimental systems and geometries, include atomic force microscopy, optical tweezers, surface forces apparatus, and magnetic tweezers.

Efficacy of absorbable gelfoam soaked by tranexamic acid in controlling bleeding, pain, and dry socket following surgical extraction of third molar
Bleeding, pain, and dry socket are common complications following third molar surgical extractions. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Gelfoam Soaked by Tranexamic Acid in reducing bleeding, managing pain, and preventing dry socket in patients undergoing third molar surgical extractions. Additionally, the role of Gelfoam in supporting the surgical flap during suturing was also examined.
Drug-Induced Oral Complications
Provides detailed information on the prevalence and manifestations of the most important oral complications associated with different drug treatments, focusing especially on recently developed therapies. Among the diverse adverse drug reactions covered are gingival overgrowth, ulcerations, lichenoid reactions, pigmentation, and bullous reactions. The potential direct toxic effects on bone of drugs that prevent bone mass loss, such as bisphosphonates and denosumab, are fully examined, as is the occurrence of spontaneous oral bleeding in patients receiving antithrombotic therapies. Clinical applications of botulinum toxin
Botulinum toxin (BoNT) is a neurotoxin produced by the Gram-positive, rod-shaped, sporeforming anaerobic bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Although there are seven major serotypes of Botulinum Neurotoxin (BoNT/A-G), only type A and B are used clinically. For the purpose of this research paper, we will refer to this agent as BoNT. This research paper primarily serves to provide a historical review of the toxin, assess its mechanism of action, and highlight the most common clinical applications of BoNT therapy across multiple medical specialties in an organized, specialty-based manner, including their complications and recommended BoNT dosages.

Blind smart helmet
The Smart Helmet for the Blind is a project aimed at providing solutions for the challenges faced by blind individuals in their daily lives. The problem of detecting objects, identifying obstacles and distances, knowing the current location, and using a mobile application is a common issue for blind people. To address these problems, the Smart Helmet project was created, utilizing advanced technology and artificial intelligence to provide real-time assistance to the wearer. The helmet is connected to a Raspberry Pi 4, which processes information from the helmet's cameras and AI algorithms to analyze and predict the surrounding environment for a blind person.
