Isomonodromic Deformations and Frobenius Manifolds : An Introduction

The notion of a Frobenius structure on a complex analytic manifold appeared at the end of the seventies in the theory of singularities of holomorphic functions. Motivated by physical considerations, further development of the theory has opened new perspectives on, and revealed new links between, many apparently unrelated areas of mathematics and physics. Based on a series of graduate lectures, this book provides an introduction to algebraic geometric methods in the theory of complex linear differential equations. Starting from basic notions in complex algebraic geometry, it develops some of the classical problems of linear differential equations and ends with applications to recent research questions related to mirror symmetry.

Introduction to Complex Analysis in Several Variables

This book gives a comprehensive introduction to complex analysis in several variables. It clearly focusses on special topics in complex analysis rather than trying to encompass as much material as possible. Many cross-references to other parts of mathematics, such as functional analysis or algebras, are pointed out in order to broaden the view and the understanding of the chosen topics. A major focus is extension phenomena alien to the one-dimensional theory, which are expressed in the famous Hartog's Kugelsatz, the theorem of Cartan-Thullen, and Bochner's theorem.

Holomorphic Functions in the Plane and n-dimensional Space

Complex analysis nowadays has higher-dimensional analoga: the algebra of complex numbers is replaced then by the non-commutative algebra of real quaternions or by Clifford algebras. During the last 30 years the so-called quaternionic and Clifford or hypercomplex analysis successfully developed to a powerful theory with many applications in analysis, engineering and mathematical physics. This textbook introduces both to classical and higher-dimensional results based on a uniform notion of holomorphy. Historical remarks, lots of examples, figures and exercises accompany each chapter.

Geometric Function Theory : Explorations in Complex Analysis

Complex variables is a precise, elegant, and captivating subject. Presented from the point of view of modern work in the field, this new book addresses advanced topics in complex analysis that verge on current areas of research, including invariant geometry, the Bergman metric, the automorphism groups of domains, harmonic measure, boundary regularity of conformal maps, the Poisson kernel, the Hilbert transform, the boundary behavior of harmonic and holomorphic functions, the inhomogeneous Cauchy–Riemann equations, and the corona problem.

Continuous Semigroups of Holomorphic Self-maps of the Unit Disc

The book faces the interplay among dynamical properties of semigroups, analytical properties of infinitesimal generators and geometrical properties of Koenigs functions. The book includes precise descriptions of the behavior of trajectories, backward orbits, petals and boundary behavior in general, aiming to give a rather complete picture of all interesting phenomena that occur. In order to fulfill this task, we choose to introduce a new point of view, which is mainly based on the intrinsic dynamical aspects of semigroups in relation with the hyperbolic distance and a deep use of Carathéodory prime ends topology and Gromov hyperbolicity theory.

Analysis II : Differential and Integral Calculus, Fourier Series, Holomorphic Functions

Functions in R and C, including the theory of Fourier series, Fourier integrals and part of that of holomorphic functions. It is suitable for both teaching and self-study. In his familiar, personal style, the author emphasizes ideas over calculations and, avoiding the condensed style frequently found in textbooks, explains these ideas without parsimony of words.
