The Truth of Tattoo
Tattooing is the injection of harmful and dangerous colored substances into the deep layers of the skin. This fashion has spread for many reasons especially among teenagers. However, studies have proven the spread of several diseases as a result of applying tattoos. However, treatment methods have been found to alleviate this disease. In this thesis we will discuss more details about this fashion.
The toxicity of dietary supplements
As the use of food supplements increases, voices are being raised questioning the safety of these products. As a contribution to understanding the trace and major elemental composition of food supplements and their potential health risks, this study presents concentrations of 71 elements in 138 supplements, categorised into synthetic products and three groups of products with natural ingredients. Concentrations were converted into average daily doses (ADDs) and compared to tolerable daily intakes (TDIs).

The desire for tanned skin has led to the widespread use of outdoor sunbathing, indoor tanning beds, and artificial tanning products. However, accumulating evidence indicates that all forms of purposeful tanning have serious health risks. This thesis reviews the literature on the dangers of both sunlight and artificial ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure from tanning activities. Textile toxicity
Explores the toxicological implications of various chemicals commonly used in textile manufacturing, including trace elements, flame retardants, benzothiazoles/benzotriazoles, and formaldehyde. Trace elements such as chromium, lead, and antimony, commonly present in clothing, are associated with skin irritation, allergic reactions, systemic toxicity, and carcinogenicity. Flame retardants, particularly brominated and organophosphate types, are linked to endocrine disruption, reproductive toxicity, and developmental harm. Benzothiazoles and benzotriazoles are pervasive in textiles and can permeate the skin, disrupt hormones, and impair neurodevelopment, especially in male offspring during prenatal exposure.
Sustainable Living with Environmental Risks
Modern economic development has accelerated environmental pollution, caused loss of natural habitats, and modified landscapes. These environmental changes have impacted natural systems: water and heat circulation, nutrient cycling, and biodiversity. These changes in natural systems degrade ecosystem services and subsequently increase environmental risks for humans. Environmental risks, therefore, are not only human health risks by pollution, climatic anomalies, and natural disasters, but also degradation of ecosystem services on which most people are relying for their lives. We cannot entirely eliminate the risks, because it is not possible to attain zero impact on the environment, but we need to find a mechanism that minimizes environmental risks for human sustainably. This is the idea of the interdisciplinary framework of “environmental risk management” theory, which advocates harmony between economic development and environmental conservation.

Groundwater Management in Asian Cities : Technology and Policy for Sustainability
The number of city dwellers who do not have access to piped water and rely on groundwater is also increasing. In many Asian cities, groundwater is not only the source of domestic water but also an important resource for industrial development, making better management of groundwater resources essential for sustainable development. Because groundwater is easier to access and costs less than water from piped systems, groundwater abstraction cannot be easily regulated. Policies for groundwater management adopted in Japan and other Asian countries are compared, and technologies for efficient use of groundwater are elucidated. Groundwater contamination is also a serious problem that exacerbates water scarcity in Asian cities. Case studies illustrate the cause and consequences of naturally occurring contaminants such as arsenic and fluoride, and groundwater contamination due to anthropogenic contaminants is described. Also discussed are technologies for treating contaminated groundwater to reduce the health risks of drinking contaminated groundwater.

COVID-19 in dentistry and dental education

Cosmeceuticals as Game Changers in the Cosmetic Industry
Objectives of this work is to compare conventional cosmetics to biotechnology derived cosmeceuticals in terms of skin anti-aging, skin color modulation and hair growth, and to find out which is of greater overall performance. Research revealed superiority of cosmeceuticals to classical cosmetics as it was found that many classical cosmetic agents used for aesthetical purposes posed a certain level of either ineffectiveness, for the reason that the effect did not treat the cause of the problem and was merely temporary and external, or harmfulness because of proposed potential health risks and adverse effects. Whereas cosmeceuticals presented promising novel mechanisms and compounds for a deeper, more thorough remedy.
