Gut orchestra : Micro-symphony turned onco-cacophony
The role of microbiota in colorectal cancer has been studied since alterations in its composition were observed. Ever since, there are more and more pieces of evidence that microbiota could be implicated in colorectal cancer progression. Thus, the components of the microbiota could be biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of colorectal cancer. It is truly important to address how the microbiota interacts with the host and how the host shapes the microbiota, in order to understand the biological pathways and mechanisms involved in their relationship and the consequences of their interactions in colorectal cancer.
Gastrointestinal Cancer
Gastrointestinal cancer includes cancer of the digestive system - the esophagus, colon, rectum, anus, liver, pancreas, and other digestive organs. Taken as a whole, there are an estimated 250,600 new cases in the US. Colon and rectum cancer is the third leading cause of cancer and cancer deaths in the US. Gastrointestinal Cancer is the third volume in the M.D. Anderson Cancer Care series, featuring the current standard approach to GI cancer care from the experts at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Designed for the practicing oncologist, this clinical guidebook allows for quick, authoritative access to the latest and best multimodality therapies. Topics covered in this volume include AJCC staging of gastrointestinal malignancies, recent advances in histopathology of gastroinestinal cancers, imaging techniques and endoscopy in the management of GI malignancies, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, anal cancer, and palliative therapy. Each of the 20 chapters ends with an up-to-date list of suggested readings, as well as "key practice points" highlighting the most principles and practices of each chapter for at-a-glance reference. More than 80 illustrations complement the text. This thorough, practical volume is the essential clinical guide for the oncologists, surgeons, and all physicians involved in the care of patients with GI cancer.
Facts about the most three common types of cancer in Syria
Cancer occurs when the cellular reproduction process goes out of control. In other words, cancer is a disease characterized by uncontrolled, uncoordinated and undesirable cell division. Unlike normal cells, cancer cells continue to grow and divide for their whole lives, replicating into more and more harmful cells. But death rates are falling, thanks to earlier detection of tumours and improved use of existing treatments - mainly chemotherapy biological therapy and radiotherapy. And today Our research tends to spot the light on the most common types of cancers in Syria which was found to be lung cancer, colorectal cancer, and breast cancer.
Early Cancer of the Gastrointestinal Tract : Endoscopy, Pathology, and Treatment
Differences in the diagnostic criteria for early cancer of the gastrointestinal tract between Japan and Western countries have been an interesting issue for some time, physicians in Japan being much more inclined to give a diagnosis of cancer than their European and North American counterparts. This book addresses those differences by contrasting the views of Eastern and Western endoscopists and pathologists on 24 cases presented in Part I.
Colorectal Cancer : Evidence-based Chemotherapy Strategies
The clinician is challenged to keep up with the rapidly changing landscape and the rapidly emerging data that shape the options for treatment today and tom- row. In this text, leaders in the management of colorectal cancer review the current literature that has led us to where we are today. Critical evaluations of the data are offered, and evidence-based recommendations are made.
Le dépistage du cancer colorectal : État des lieux et perspectives = Colorectal cancer screening: Current status and perspectives
Prevention and screening are two major challenges for Public Health to reduce cancer mortality in our country. Screening for colorectal cancer is therefore quite exemplary. The number one cancer in both sexes in France, its incidence continues to increase due to the aging of the population. Its mortality remains high, in the order of fifty percent, despite the major therapeutic advances made in recent years. Preceded by a precancerous lesion - the adenomatous polyp, which can be removed by colonoscopy - colorectal cancer is also curable at the early stage. Finally, it can be the subject of a screening strategy, the impact of which has been demonstrated today on the reduction in mortality, when it is detected before any symptom by a simple test for blood in the stool followed by , in case of positivity, by a total colonoscopy. This book takes stock of the scientific rationale and the state of play of organized colorectal cancer screening in France. It is also an opportunity to discuss emerging techniques and strategies that can help improve the results of this screening if they prove their superiority over the current strategy. Intended primarily for doctors, this book is also intended for healthcare professionals and all those who, concerned about their health, have a proactive attitude in terms of screening and preventing this cancer.

La colonscopia virtuale = The virtual colonoscopy
The text intends to provide the radiologist, specialized in the study of the colon, with a complete update on this innovative technique which, as confirmed by the very recent Guidelines published by the American Cancer Society and the American Gastroenterological Association.
La colografia virtuale con TC multistrato (CTC) = Virtual colonography with multislice CT
With the spread of multidetector row CT (MDCT), virtual colonography (VC) is establishing itself as a new, proven alternative radiological method in the diagnosis of intestinal polyps and colorectal cancer. VC is already considered the first-line examination for identifying synchronous tumor lesions in patients with colorectal cancers that cannot be penetrated by endoscope, simultaneously providing accurate staging of malignant lesions. Its minimally invasive nature makes VC a valid alternative to pancolonoscopy, even in the detection of intestinal polyps, and provides the basis for interesting developments regarding future applications in screening programs. The text, aimed at radiologists who are approaching the method, radiology technicians and doctors involved in the diagnostic and therapeutic process of colorectal pathology, indicates the advantages of the normal method, the normal method with fourteen chondrii, the normal method with fourteen chondrii, the pathological method with fourteen chondrii indications.
