Gastroesophagal reflux disease (GERD)
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common disease with a high prevalence worldwide and a great socioeconomic burden. GERD is a multifactorial disease in which anatomical and functional factors both play a pathogenetic role. The disease can manifest in various symptoms which can be grouped into typical, atypical and extra-esophageal symptoms. The pathophysiology of GERD is complex and not completely understood. An abnormal LES pressure and increased reflux during transient LES relaxations are believed to be key etiologic factors. Prolonged exposure of the esophagus to acid is another. Heartburn and acid regurgitation are the most common symptoms of GERD, although pathologic reflux can result in a wide variety of clinical presentations.
Gastric ulcers the cases and treatment
A gastric ulcer also known as stomach ulcer is an excoriated area of stomach caused principally by the digestive action of gastric juice Secretion in many ways the most common reasons are the taking non steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) or an infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria. It used to be Thought that stress or certain foods or drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco might cause stomach ulcer but in less cases. stomach ulcer can affect people of any age, including children, but mostly occur in people aged 50 or over. the common symptom is the pain in stomach and nausea with or without vomiting. the diagnosis through endoscopy is the best method to be sure about ulcer. the treatment of ulcer according to the reasons of ulcer is caused bacteria or not gastric ulcer It occurs in 80% of cases with the level of curvature The little one, especially the angle and antra, and effect men and women are the same.
Gases and Toxins that Cause Pulmonary Edema
Pulmonary edema is a major health problem in the lung, it is a cardinal feature of congestive heart failure. Pulmonary edema defined as excessive extravascular water in the lungs, is a common and serious clinical problem. Pulmonary edema can be life-threatening, but effective therapy is available to rescue patients from the deleterious consequences of disturbed lung fluid balance, which usually can be identified and, in many instances, corrected. So we like to talk about this common disease because of its importance and its wide spread around the world. Other important causes of pulmonary edema are human exposure to some gases and toxins, the most important of which is chlorine gas, phosgene, mustard gas, heroin, paraquat and ammonia. This research paper will discuss also the procedures that are included, as well as a wider knowledge of these toxins and gases.
Game Theory and Mutual Misunderstanding : Scientific Dialogues in Five Acts
This book consists of five acts and two interludes, which are all written as dialogues between three main characters and other supporting characters. Each act discusses the epistemological, institutional and methodological foundations of game theory and economics, while using various stories and examples. A featured aspect of those discussions is that many forms of mutual misunderstanding are involved in social situations as well as in those fields themselves. One Japanese traditional comic story called the Konnyaku Mondo is representative and gives hints of how our thought is constrained by incorrect beliefs. Each dialogue critically examines extant theories and common misunderstanding in game theory and economics in order to find possible future developments of those fields.
Fuzzy database modeling with XML
Fuzzy Database Modeling with XML aims to provide a single record of current research and practical applications in the fuzzy databases. This volume is the outgrowth of research the author has conducted in recent years. Fuzzy Database Modeling with XML introduces state of the art information to the database research, while at the same time serving the information technology professional faced with a non-traditional application that defeats conventional approaches. The research on fuzzy conceptual models and fuzzy object-oriented databases is receiving increasing attention, in addition to fuzzy relational database models. With rapid advances in network and internet techniques as well, the databases have been applied under the environment of distributed information systems. It is essential in this case to integrate multiple fuzzy database systems. Since databases are commonly employed to store and manipulate XML data, additional requirements are necessary to model fuzzy information with XML. Second, this book maps fuzzy XML model to the fuzzy databases. Very few efforts at investigating these issues have thus far occurred.

Functional Hemodynamic Monitoring
Hemodynamic monitoring is one of the major diagnostic tools available in the acute care setting to diagnose cardiovascular insufficiency and monitor changes over time in response to interventions. However, the rationale and efficacy of hemodynamic monitoring to affect outcome has come into question. We now have increasing evidence that outcome from critical illness can be improved by focused resuscitation based on existing hemodynamic monitoring, whereas non-specific aggressive resuscitation impairs survival. Thus, this book frames hemodynamic monitoring into a functional perspective wherein hemodynamic variables and physiology interact to derive performance and physiological reserve estimates that themselves drive treatment. This philosophy, as well as the limitations and applications of common and evolving hemodynamic measures and their focused use in the care of critically ill patients are discussed, relevant to one underlying truth: No monitoring device, no matter how simple or sophisticated, will improve patient-centered outcomes useless coupled to a treatment which, itself, improves outcome.

From Suns to Life: : A Chronological Approach to the History of Life on Earth
This review emerged from several interdisciplinary meetings and schools gathering a group of astronomers, geologists, biologists, and chemists, attempting to share their specialized knowledge around a common question: how did life emerge on Earth? Their ultimate goal was to provide some kind of answer as a prerequisite to an even more demanding question: is life universal? The main chapters of this review present the formation and evolution of the solar system (3); the building of a habitable planet (4); prebiotic chemistry, biochemistry, and the emergence of life (5); the environmental context of the early Earth (6); and the ancient fossil record and early evolution (7). The concluding chapter (9) provides the highlights of the review and presents the different points of view about the universality of life. Two pedagogical chapters are included; one on chronometers (2), another in the form of a "frieze" (8) which summarizes in graphical form the present state of knowledge about the chronology of the emergence of life on Earth, before the Cambrian explosion.
