HCI related papers of Interacción 2004 ; Conference proceedings
The present book contains a collection of the best papers presented at the 5th International Conference on Interacción Persona Ordenador (IPO) (which is Human Computer Interaction in Spanish), which took place in th th Lleida on May 5 -7 , 2004. . The main goals of Interacción 2004 were: To expand the conference scope with internationally recognised invited speakers. The plenary talks were presented by Alan Dix, Yvonne Rogers, Geritt van der Veer, and Angel Puerta. To open the participation to Spanish speaker worldwide in order to be a point of reference of this discipline not only in Spain but also in the wider Spanish speaking community. This goal was reached through a very diverse program which included panels and posters sessions, where many different aspect of the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) were presented. All through the program, research from outside Spain was reflected through the contributions from people of other countries.
Harmonic Analysis and Applications
John J. Benedetto has had a profound influence not only on the direction of harmonic analysis and its applications, but also on the entire community of people involved in the field. This self-contained volume in honor of John covers a wide range of topics in harmonic analysis and related areas, including weighted-norm inequalities, frame theory, wavelet theory, time-frequency analysis, and sampling theory. The invited chapters pay tribute to John’s many achievements and express an appreciation for both the mathematical and personal inspiration he has given to so many students, coauthors, and colleagues. Although the scope of the book is broad, chapters are clustered by topic to provide authoritative expositions that will be of lasting interest.

Overview The International Workshop on Haptic and Audio Interaction Design was - ganized as part of the EPSRC-funded MultiVis project. The main focus of the workshop was to investigate how the modalities of sound and haptics (touch) could be used together in interaction, and what novel interfaces could be p- vided when they are used in conjunction. What are the relative advantages of each of the modalities when used alone and together? Are there reasons why haptic-based information is moreuseful in certain situations than equivalent - dio information? How can di?erent modalities be used together to create c- pelling and useful interaction with computer-based systems?

The 16th International Symposium on Graph Drawing (GD 2008) was held in Hersonissos, near Heraklion, Crete, Greece, September 21-24, 2008, and was attended by 91 participants from 19 countries. In response to the call for papers the Program Committee received 83 s- missions,eachdescribing originalresearchand/or a systemdemonstration.Tamassia showed how graph drawing techniques can be used as an e?ective tool in computer security and pointed to future research directions in this area. Following what is now a tradition, the 15th Annual Graph Drawing Contest was held during the conference, also including a Graph Drawing Challenge to the conference attendees.

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, the most common enzyme deficiency worldwide, causes a spectrum of disease including neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, acute hemolysis, and chronic hemolysis. Persons with this condition also may be asymptomatic. This X-linked inherited disorder most commonly affects persons of African, Asian, Mediterranean, or MiddleEastern descent. Because acute hemolysis is caused by exposure to an oxidative stressor in the form of an infection, oxidative drug, or fava beans, treatment is geared toward avoidance of these and other stressors.
