Explores the concept of cosmetic procedures from a number of angles and attempt to deconstruct the relationship between truth and fiction in this area. On the one hand, cosmetic procedures are seen as a means of selfimprovement and self-confidence. On the other hand, there are many concerns about the potential health risks and long-term psychological effects that individuals may experience as a result of pursuing an idealised form of beauty.

The Symposia have become important, unique - casions in the international calendar of business research. The papers c- lected here, first presented in Athens, represent an important contribution to the research literature of modern business. The wide-scale institutional development of collaborative practices in the European consumer goods business began in 1994 with the creation of ECR (“Efficient Consumer Response”) Europe, a joint initiative of ma- facturers and retailers working together to improve the quality and p- formance of the value chain. At the heart of ECR was a business envir- ment characterised by dramatic advances in information technology, shifts in consumer demand, and the increasing movements of goods across int- national borders. This new reality required a fundamental reconsideration of the most effective way of delivering the right products to consumers at the right price.

Computational Methods in Transport : Verification and Validation
The focus of this book deals with a cross cutting issue affecting all particle transport algorithms and applications; verification and validation (V&V). In other words, are the equations being solved correctly and are the correct equations being solved? Verification and validation assures a scientist, engineer or mathematician that a simulation code is a mirror of reality and not just an expensive computer game. In this book, we will learn what the astrophysicist, atmospheric scientist, mathematician or nuclear engineer do to assess the accuracy of their code. What convergence studies, what error analysis, what problems do each field use to benchmark and ascertain the accuracy of their transport simulations.
Coming to Terms with Superdiversity: The Case of Rotterdam
This book discusses Rotterdam as clear example of a superdiverse city that is only reluctantly coming to terms with this new reality. Rotterdam, as is true for many post-industrial cities, has seen a considerable backlash against migration and diversity: the populist party Leefbaar Rotterdam of the late Pim Fortuyn is already for many years the largest party in the city. At the same time Rotterdam has become a majority minority city where the people of Dutch descent have become a numerical minority themselves. The book explores how Rotterdam is coming to terms with superdiversity, by an analysis of its migration history of the city, the composition of the migrant population and the Dutch working class population, local politics and by a comparison with Amsterdam and other cities. As such it contributes to a better understanding not just of how and why super-diverse cities emerge but also how and why the reaction to a super-diverse reality can be so different.
