Acquired Cystic Disease of the Kidney and Renal Cell Carcinoma : Complication of Long-Term Dialysis

I have been involved in the treatment of chronic renal insuf? new and unexpected pathological conditions have also appeared as complications of long-term dialysis. One of these involves polycystic changes and their malignant transformation in diseased kidneys. Since I have studied these polycystic changes and their malignant transformation for many years, I decided to compile the results of my work in a book. Such conditions of diseased kidneys pose serious problems, particularly in Japan, where renal transplantation is performed very infrequently compared with other countries, and a large number of patients are managed by dialysis over a long period.

Provides an in-depth analysis of industry sectors globally, and its purpose is to present emission reduction targets in 5-year steps (2025 to 2050) for the main twelve finance sectors per the Global Industry Classification System. This scientific analysis aims to support the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment initiative to give sustainability guidance for the global finance industry. The industry sector pathways presented here are based on the latest global and regional 100% renewable energy and non-energy greenhouse gas Representative Concentration Pathways in order to keep climate change significantly under +1.5 C and thereby achieve the Paris Climate Agreement goals. The heart of this book is three chapters presenting the results of industry scenario modelling. These chapters cover twelve industry and service sectors as well as transportation and buildings. Based on state-of-the-art scenario modelling, it provides the vital missing link between renewable energy targets and the measures needed to achieve them. Accessing Multilingual Information Repositories ; 6th Workshop of the Cross-Language Evaluation Forum, CLEF 2005, Vienna, Austria, 21-23 September, 2005, Revised Selected Papers

The sixth campaign of the Cross Language Evaluation Forum (CLEF) for European languages was held from January to September 2005. CLEF is by now an established international evaluation initiative and 74 groups from all over the world submitted results for one or more of the different evaluation tracks in 2005, compared with 54 groups in 2004. There were eight distinct evaluation tracks, designed to test the performance of a wide range of systems for multilingual information access. Full details regarding the design of the tracks, the methodologies used for evaluation, and the results obtained by the participants can be found in the different sections of these proceedings.

Abstract Harmonic Analysis of Continuous Wavelet Transforms

This volume contains a systematic discussion of wavelet-type inversion formulae based on group representations, and their close connection to the Plancherel formula for locally compact groups. The connection is demonstrated by the discussion of a toy example, and then employed for two purposes: Mathematically, it serves as a powerful tool, yielding existence results and criteria for inversion formulae which generalize many of the known results. Moreover, the connection provides the starting point for a – reasonably self-contained – exposition of Plancherel theory. Therefore, the book can also be read as a problem-driven introduction to the Plancherel formula.

Absolute Stability of Nonlinear Control Systems

Following the recent developments in the field of absolute stability, Professor Xiaoxin Liao, in conjunction with Professor Pei Yu, has created a second edition of his seminal work on the subject. Liao begins with an introduction to the Lurie problem and the Lurie control system, before moving on to the simple algebraic sufficient conditions for the absolute stability of autonomous and non-autonomous ODE systems, as well as several special classes of Lurie-type systems. The focus of the book then shifts toward the new results and research that have appeared in the decade since the first edition was published. This includes nonlinear control systems with multiple controls, interval control systems, time-delay and neutral Lurie control systems, systems described by functional differential equations, the absolute stability for neural networks, as well as applications to chaos control and chaos synchronization.

A Theory of Distributed Objects : Asynchrony - Mobility - Groups - Components

Distributed and communicating objects are becoming ubiquitous. In global, Grid and Peer-to-Peer computing environments, extensive use is made of objects interacting through method calls. So far, no general formalism has been proposed for the foundation of such systems. Caromel and Henrio are the first to define a calculus for distributed objects interacting using asynchronous method calls with generalized futures, i.e., wait-by-necessity -- a must in large-scale systems, providing both high structuring and low coupling, and thus scalability. The authors provide very generic results on expressiveness and determinism, and the potential of their approach is further demonstrated by its capacity to cope with advanced issues such as mobility, groups, and components.

A proposed model for predicting financial Loss of private conventional and Islamic banks in Syria

This study aimed to find a model consisting of a set of financial ratios in which each ratio has its own weight that indicate its importance to predict probability of financial loss of conventional and Islamic banks in Syria. The early prediction warns the concerned parties that they can intervene and take corrective actions before the collapses of bank. To achieve this ratios of conventional and Islamic Syrian banks were analyzed using Binary logistic regression from the period of 2011-2020 The statistical results show that the logistic regression model is accurate to predict the probability of a financial loss in conventional banks about 82.2%, 81.3%, 80.1%, 78% before 90 days ,180 days, 270 days, one year respectively. We can generally use five variables (Non-performing debt, return on equity, size, growth rate and financing portfolio ratio) in bank's financial loss prediction, but for Islamic banks, no significant values were shown so we can’t find logistic regression model is accurate for Islamic banks.
