Computer Music Modeling and Retrieval ; Vol. 3310
This volume contains the final proceedings for the 2004 Computer Music Model-ing and Retrieval Symposium (CMMR 2004). CMMR is an annualevent focusing on important aspects of computer music. CMMR 2004 is the sec-ond event in this series. The use of computers in music is well established. CMMR 2004 provided aunique opportunity to meet and interact with peers concerned with the cross-influence of the technological and creative in computer music. The field of com-puter music is interdisciplinary by nature and closely related to a number of com-puter science and engineering areas such as information retrieval, programming,human computer interaction, digital libraries, hypermedia, artificial intelligence,acoustics, signal processing, etc. The event gathered many interesting people(researchers, educators, composers, performers, and others). Introduction The dramatic increase in available computer storage capacity over the last 10 years has led to the creation of very large databases of scienti?c and commercial information. The need to analyze these masses of data has led to the evolution of the new field knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) at the intersection of machine learning, statistics and database technology. Being interdisciplinary by nature, the field offers the opportunity to combine the expertise of different fields into a common objective. Moreover, within each field diverse methods have been developed and justified with respect to different quality criteria. We have to investigate how these methods can contributet o solving the problem of KDD. Traditionally, KDD was seeking to end global models for the data that - plain most of the instances of the database and describe the general structure of the data. Examples are statistical time series models, cluster models, logic programs with high coverageor classi?cation models like decision trees or linear decision functions. In practice, though, the use of these models often is very l- ited, because global models tend to end only the obvious patterns in the data, 1 which domain experts already are aware of . What is really of interest to the users are the local patterns that deviate from the already-known background knowledge. David Hand, who organized a workshop in 2002, proposed the new field of local patterns.
Liquidity, markets and trading in action : An interdisciplinary perspective

Liposomes as Drug Carriers
Patients have recently suffered from the side effects of a large number of drugs and from the weak pharmacological effect, due to the biokinetics and the difficulty of delivering the drug to the targeted cells, which negatively affected the therapeutic efficacy, creating an opportunity to discover nanometric carriers to load the active drug substances, so we covered in this research the most famous and widely used nanocarriers which are liposomes. We touched in some detail its composition, types, the relationship of structure to influence, methods of preparation, its delivery mechanism for the drug, and at the end of the research, we attached various applications in the field of therapeutic diagnostics and its role in cosmetics, cancers and many other fields.

Le dépistage du cancer colorectal : État des lieux et perspectives = Colorectal cancer screening: Current status and perspectives
Prevention and screening are two major challenges for Public Health to reduce cancer mortality in our country. Screening for colorectal cancer is therefore quite exemplary. The number one cancer in both sexes in France, its incidence continues to increase due to the aging of the population. Its mortality remains high, in the order of fifty percent, despite the major therapeutic advances made in recent years. Preceded by a precancerous lesion - the adenomatous polyp, which can be removed by colonoscopy - colorectal cancer is also curable at the early stage. Finally, it can be the subject of a screening strategy, the impact of which has been demonstrated today on the reduction in mortality, when it is detected before any symptom by a simple test for blood in the stool followed by , in case of positivity, by a total colonoscopy. This book takes stock of the scientific rationale and the state of play of organized colorectal cancer screening in France. It is also an opportunity to discuss emerging techniques and strategies that can help improve the results of this screening if they prove their superiority over the current strategy. Intended primarily for doctors, this book is also intended for healthcare professionals and all those who, concerned about their health, have a proactive attitude in terms of screening and preventing this cancer.

Over the years, the CPE conferences have gathered participants from more and more countries, and the scope of interests have been broadened. Sentinel lymph node (SLN) procedures have opened a window of opportunity for the study of micrometastasis. In eighty percent (80%) of metastasis there lies an orderly pattern of progression via the lymphatic network, while 20% of the time systemic metastasis occurs, bypassing the lymphatic system. During the past two decades, significant progress has been achieved in understanding the anatomical, functional, cellular and molecular aspects of the lymphovascular system and the metastasis process.Molecular imaging advances help to localize early cancers more precisely.
