Advances in databases and information systems ; 25th European Conference, ADBIS 2021, Tartu, Estonia, August 24–26, 2021, Proceedings
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems, ADBIS 2021, held in Tartu, Estonia, in August 2021. The 18 full papers presented together with 3 keynotes were carefully reviewed and selected from 70 submissions. The selected papers span a wide spectrum of topics in databases and related technologies, tackling challenging problems and presenting inventive and efficient solutions. They are organized in 5 sessions: patterns and events, social media and text mining, indexes, queries and constraints, high-dimensional data and data streams, and data integration.

This reprint comprises 19 original papers concerning recent advances in the research and development of AMTSs. Specifically, there are many research fields that are covered: machining processes (six papers), micro-/nano-precision fabrication (four papers), and system optimization (eight papers), in addition to one review.

The Third International Conference on Advanced Data Mining and Applications (ADMA) organized in Harbin, China continued the tradition already established by the first two ADMA conferences in Wuhan in 2005 and Xi’an in 2006. This feat has been partially achieved in a very short time despite the young age of the conference, thanks to the rigorous review process insisted upon, the outstanding list of internationally renowned keynote speakers and the excellent program each year. The impact of a conference is measured by the citations the conference papers receive. Some have used this measure to rank conferences.

This volume collects the papers accepted for presentation at the Ninth International Conference on “Advanced Concepts for Intelligent Vision Systems”The ACIVS conference was established in 1999 in Baden-Baden (Germany) as part of a large m ulticonference. Since then ACIVS has been developed as an independent scientific event and has maintained the tradition of being a single track event with oral presentations of 25 minutes each, even though the number of participants has been steadily growing every year. The conference currently attracts computer scientists from more than 20 countries, mostly from Europe, Australia and Japan, but also from the USA, Asia and the Middle East.
Advanced artificial intelligence models and its applications
The field of artificial intelligence (AI) has undergone enormous expansion since its inception in the mid-20th century, as demonstrated by its application across an array of engineering and scientific challenges. Particularly in the last decade, AI has witnessed a significant breakthrough with the advent of deep learning, which has facilitated the employment of various AI models across a multitude of domains. Advanced numerical simulations that use adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) methods have now become routine in engineering and science. Originally developed for computational fluid dynamics applications these methods have propagated to fields as diverse as astrophysics, climate modeling, combustion, biophysics and many others. The underlying physical models and equations used in these disciplines are rather different, yet algorithmic and implementation issues facing practitioners are often remarkably similar. Unfortunately, there has been little effort to review the advances and outstanding issues of adaptive mesh refinement methods across such a variety of fields. This book attempts to bridge this gap. The book presents a collection of papers by experts in the field of AMR who analyze past advances in the field and evaluate the current state of adaptive mesh refinement methods in scientific computing.

In this little book, the authors have approached urology from a perspective close to how patients feel.

A Mathematical Introduction to Conformal Field Theory
The first part of this book gives a detailed, self-contained and mathematically rigorous exposition of classical conformal symmetry in n dimensions and its quantization in two dimensions. In particular, the conformal groups are determined and the appearance of the Virasoro algebra in the context of the quantization of two-dimensional conformal symmetry is explained via the classification of central extensions of Lie algebras and groups. The second part surveys some more advanced topics of conformal field theory, such as the representation theory of the Virasoro algebra, conformal symmetry within string theory, an axiomatic approach to Euclidean conformally covariant quantum field theory and a mathematical interpretation of the Verlinde formula in the context of moduli spaces of holomorphic vector bundles on a Riemann surface.

A Generalization of Bohr-Mollerup's Theorem for Higher Order Convex Functions
This book develops a far-reaching generalization of Bohr-Mollerup's theorem to higher order convex functions, along lines initiated by Wolfgang Krull, Roger Webster, and some others but going considerably further than past work. In particular, this generalization shows using elementary techniques that a very rich spectrum of functions satisfy analogues of several classical properties of the gamma function, including Bohr-Mollerup's theorem itself, Euler's reflection formula, Gauss' multiplication theorem, Stirling's formula, and Weierstrass' canonical factorization.
