This book constitutes the proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Health Information Science, HIS 2020, which took place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, during October 20-23, 2020. This book provides a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art imaging in head and neck cancer. Precise determination of tumor extent is of the utmost importance in these neoplasms, as it has important consequences for staging of disease, prediction of outcome and choice of treatment. Only the radiologist can fully appreciate submucosal, perineural, and perivascular tumor spread and detect metastatic disease at an early stage. Imaging is also of considerable benefit for patient surveillance after treatment.

Harnessing the Power of the Criminal Corpse
This book is the culmination of many years of research on what happened to the bodies of executed criminals in the past. Focusing on the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it looks at the consequences of the 1752 Murder Act. These criminal bodies had a crucial role in the history of medicine, and the history of crime, and great symbolic resonance in literature and popular culture. Starting with a consideration of the criminal corpse in the medieval and early modern periods, chapters go on to review the histories of criminal justice, of medical history and of gibbeting under the Murder Act, and ends with some discussion of the afterlives of the corpse, in literature, folklore and in contemporary medical ethics. Using sophisticated insights from cultural history, archaeology, literature, philosophy and ethics as well as medical and crime history, this book is a uniquely interdisciplinary take on a fascinating historical phenomenon.
Harmonic Analysis and Rational Approximation : Their Rôles in Signals, Control and Dynamical Systems
This book - an outgrowth of a topical summer school - sets out to introduce non-specialists from physics and engineering to the basic mathematical concepts of approximation and Fourier theory. After a general introduction, Part II of this volume contains basic material on the complex and harmonic analysis underlying the further developments presented. Part III deals with the essentials of approximation theory while Part IV completes the foundations by a tour of probability theory. Part V reviews some major applications in signal and control theory. In Part VI mathematical aspects of dynamical systems theory are discussed. Part VII, finally, is devoted to a modern approach to two physics problems: turbulence and the control and noise analysis in gravitational waves measurements.

These are the conference proceedings of the 4th Haifa Verifcation Conference, held October 27–30, 2008 in Haifa, Israel. This international conference is a unique venue that brings together leading researchers and practitioners of both formal and dynamic verifcation, for both hardware and software systems. This year’s conference extended the successes of the previous years, with a largejumpinthenumberofsubmitted papers. with many more high-quality papers than we had room to accept. Submissions came from 19 di?erent countries, re?ecting the growing international visibility of the conference. Of the 49 submissions, 43 were regular papers, 2 of which were later withdrawn, and 6 were tool papers. After a rigorous review process.
Hardware and software : Verification and testing ; 1st International Haifa Verification Conference, Haifa, Israel, November 13-16, 2005, Revised Selected Papers
The First Haifa Verification Conference was held at the IBM Haifa Research Lab and at the Haifa University in Israel from November 13 to16, 2005. The conference incorporated three different workshops that took place separately in previous years. The IBM Verification Workshop is now its sixth year, the IBM Software Testing Workshop is now in its fourth year, and the PADTAD Workshop on testing and debugging multi-threaded and parallel software was held for the third time. The Verification Conference was a three-day, single-track conference followed by a one-day tutorial on the testing and review of multi-threaded code. The conference presented a unique combination of fields that brought together the hardware and software testing communities. Merging the different communities under a single roof gave the conference a distinctive flavor and provided the participants with added benefits. While the applications in these separate fields are different, the techniques used are often very similar. By offering lectures in these disparate but related disciplines, the conference engendered an environment of collaboration and discovery.

For example, normal frames and coordinates are defined and investigated for different kinds of derivations, in particular for (possibly linear) connections on manifolds, with or without torsion, in vector bundles and on differentiable bundles; they are explored also for (possibly parallel) transports along paths in vector bundles. Theorems of existence, uniqueness and, possibly, holonomicity of normal frames and coordinates are proved; mostly, the proofs are constructive and some of their parts can be used independently for other tasks.
